摘要： The invention relates to impact modifiers for polyamide compositions which improve the impact strength of the polyamides without adversely affecting the flexural modules of the composition. The impact modifiers comprise blends of general purpose rubbers and a halogenated copolymer of a C.sub.4 to C.sub.7 isomonoolefin and an alkylstyrene. In addition, the invention is drawn to a polyamide composition containing such impact modifiers.

摘要： Crystalline propylene polymer compositions having improved impact strength and improved clarity are disclosed. The composition is prepared by melt blending a propylene polymer, e.g., polypropylene, and from about 1 to 35 wt % of an elastomeric interpolymer of a C.sub.4 to C.sub.8 isomonoolefin, e.g., isobutylene, and a para alkystyrene comonomer, e.g., para-methylstyrene. The interpolymer preferably contains a benzylic functional group such as halogen (bromine). The composition may also contain from about 0.5 to 15 wt % of the amide reaction product of an organic acid-grafted propylene polymer, e.g., maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene, and a polyfunctional primary amine.

摘要： Toughened nanocomposite materials are prepared based on a blend of one or more thermoplastic engineering resins, e.g., nylon, a functionalized, e.g. brominated, copolymer of a C.sub.4 -C.sub.7 isomonoolefin, e.g. isobutylene, and a para-alkylstyrene, e.g. para-methylstyrene, and further contain a uniformly dispersed exfoliated phyllosilicate layered clay, e.g., montmorillonite. The nanocomposite materials exhibit superior mechanical properties, including enhanced impact strength.

摘要： Vulcanizable blends containing a halogenated copolymer of a C.sub.4 -C.sub.7 isomonoolefin and para-alkylstyrene mixed with one or more olefinically unsaturated elastomeric polymers are disclosed. Cure is preferably effected using zinc stearate as a curative at levels below about 3.0 phr which gives rise to vulcanizates having selective interpolymer addition of benzylic halogen present in the halogenated copolymer to the double bond of the unsaturated polymer with no significant self curing of the halogenated polymer taking place.

摘要： Methods of tailoring polyethylenes are contemplated utilizing 0.5 to 70 volume percent oxygen containing gases. The tailoring occurs in a melt-conveying zone of a mixer/extruder, and not in the feed or melting zones of a mixer/extruder. The effect of tailoring is to decrease the haze and/or increase the gloss of blown films made from the tailored polyethylenes compared to similar polyethylenes that are extruded/mixed in the substantial absence of oxygen or oxygen containing gases.

The lamp-control circuit is also configured to urge each lamp segment of the lamp array to consume relatively constant power for a portion of a cycle of the output voltage of the electrical source in such a way that said each lamp segment of the lamp array, in use, emits a relatively constant light output for the portion the cycle of the output voltage of the electrical source.
