Abstract: The present invention discloses a communications device and a method and an apparatus for reducing power consumption of a communications device. The method includes: determining a minimum supply voltage that is for a WiFi power amplification circuit at an actual transmit power and that meets a WiFi communication rate; and providing a working voltage to the WiFi power amplification circuit to transmit data, where the working voltage is a voltage that is not lower than the minimum supply voltage and that is lower than a maximum supply voltage. According to the foregoing disclosed content, in the present invention, a supply voltage for a WiFi power amplifier in a communications device can be dynamically adjusted according to a transmit power required by the communications device to send data, so as to reduce power consumption of a communications system.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for handover between access points, and terminal equipment. The method includes: when performing information transmission with a first access point AP on a first frequency band, determining whether the terminal equipment needs to establish a connection with a second AP which is a second frequency band; determining, by the terminal equipment, whether the first AP and the second AP are corresponding to a same dual-band radio access device; sending, by the terminal equipment, a connection request to the second AP when maintaining a protocol layer connection with the first AP; and establishing, by the terminal equipment, the connection with the second AP when the second AP send feedback. In the method, duration required by a process of handover between access points can be reduced, and a user is made not perceive the handover process, thereby improving user experience.

Abstract: A transmit power determining method and apparatus are disclosed. The method includes: calculating, channel state information of a channel between the wireless access point device and a station device within a particular time range; comparing, by the wireless access point device, the channel state information with pre-obtained reference channel state information, and adjusting, according to a result of the comparison, a transmit power currently used by the wireless access point device; and sending, by the wireless access point device to the station device by using a transmit power after the adjustment, a message carrying data. During implementation of the present disclosure, a transmit power for sending data can be adjusted according to channel state information corresponding to a channel between a wireless access point device and a station device, thereby avoiding unnecessary power overheads and a waste of energy.

Abstract: A frequency band switching method for a terminal includes: in response to determining that the terminal and a first access point (AP) transmit information by using a first frequency band, detecting a value of a channel quality parameter group, in response to determining that the value of the channel quality parameter group meets a preset condition, sending a connection request to a second AP, the connection request including a request for establishing a connection between the terminal and the second AP by using a second frequency band, and in response to determining that a success message fed back by the second AP according to the connection request is received, establishing, by the terminal, the connection with the second AP by using the second frequency band, and then sending a disconnection instruction to the first AP to break a connection between the terminal and the first AP.
