    摘要: A Chinese traditional medicine composition for prevention and treatment of avian influenza is provided. Its activated ingredients are consisted of: herba houttuyniae 21.4 wt. %, Caulis lonicerae japonicae 17.9 wt. %, radix isatidis 14.3 wt. %, male fern rhizome 10.7 wt. %, radix et rhizoma sophorae tonkinensis 7.1 wt. %, radix angelicae dahuricae 7.1 wt. %, rhizoma paridis 7.l wt. %, herba artemisiae annuae 7.2 wt. %, and rhizoma iridis tectoris 7.2 wt. %. This Chinese traditional medicine composition could be made into any regular medicinal types, for example, oral solutions, tablets, capsules, pellets and injection solution, etc. Modified preparation methods for this Chinese traditional medicine composition, as well as the use of the same in preparation of medicines and health foods for prevention or treatment of avian influenza were also provided in present invention. This Chinese traditional medicine composition could effectively prevent and treat avian influenza. It was a safer, more easily-obtained, and inexpensive anti-avian influenza drug.

    摘要: The present invention provides the complete genomic sequence of a novel human coronavirus, coined as coronavirus-HKU1 (“CoV-HKU1”), isolated in Hong Kong from a patient who had a recent history of visit to Schenzhen, China. The virus belongs to the order Nidovirales of the family Coronaviridae, being a single-stranded RNA virus of positive polarity. The invention also provides the deduced amino acid sequences of the complete genome of the CoV-HKU1. The nucleotide sequences and deduced amino acid sequences of the CoV-HKU1 are useful in preventing, diagnosing and/or treating the infection by CoV-HKU1. Furthermore, the invention provides immunogenic and vaccine preparations using recombinant and chimeric forms as well as subunits of the CoV-HKU1 based on the nucleotide sequences and deduced amino acid sequences of the CoV-HKU1.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a diagnostic assay for the virus causing Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in humans (“hSARS virus”). In particular, the invention relates to a real-time quantitative PCR assay for the detection of hSARS virus using reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction. Specifically, the quantitative assay is a TaqMan® assay using the primers and probes constructed based on the genome of the hSARS virus. The invention further relates to a diagnostic kit that comprises nucleic acid molecules for the detection of the hSARS virus.

One associate method includes: selecting a set of keywords from the user query; determining at least one word, not necessarily found in the user query, that is semantically similar to a keyword of the set of keywords; using the set of keywords and the at least one word to determining a subset of word sets from a database of pre-stored word sets, wherein the pre-stored word sets are each pre-associated with at least one document; determining a plurality of word sets, from the subset of word sets, that is most semantically similar to the user query; and identifying documents that have been pre-associated with the plurality of word sets as being relevant to the natural-language user query.
