摘要： A digital television transmitting system includes a frame encoder, a block processor, a group formatter, and a multiplexer. The frame encoder forms an enhanced data frame and encodes the data frame for error correction and for error detection. The block processor further encodes the encoded data frame at a rate of 1/2 or 1/4, and the group formatter divides the encoded data frame into a plurality of enhanced data blocks and maps the divided data blocks into a plurality of enhanced data groups, respectively. The multiplexer multiplexes the enhanced data groups with main data.

摘要： A channel equalizer includes a channel estimator, a coefficient calculator, a multiplier, and an error remover. The channel estimator estimates a channel impulse response (CIR) of input data in which a known data sequence is periodically inserted. The coefficient calculator calculates equalization coefficients using estimated CIR, and the multiplier multiplies the input data with the equalization coefficients for channel equalization. The error removes estimates a residual carrier phase error of the channel-equalized input data and removes the estimated phase error from the input data.

摘要： A method of processing digital broadcast data in a digital broadcast transmitter includes performing Reed-Solomon (RS) encoding and Cyclic Redundancy Check encoding on mobile service data to build an RS frame; dividing the RS frame into a plurality of portions; mapping one of the plurality of portions into a first data group and inserting known data sequences, transmission parameters, place holders for non-systematic RS parity data, place holders for main service data, and place holders for MPEG header data into the first data group; deinterleaving data of the first data group to output a second data group; and removing the place holders for non-systematic RS parity data and the place holders for main service data in the second data group and replacing the place holders for MPEG header data in the second data group with MPEG header data to output mobile service data packets.

The frame encoder encodes an enhanced data frame for error correction. The data randomizing and expanding unit randomizes the encoded enhanced data and expands the randomized enhanced data. The group formatter forms a group of enhanced data having head, body, and tail regions and inserts the expanded data and transmission parameters into the body region. The block processor codes the group of enhanced data, and the deinterleaver deinterleaves the coded enhanced data. The packet formatter formats the deinterleaved enhanced data into enhanced data packets.

Herein, a method of processing data in a transmitting system includes creating a data group including a plurality of mobile service data packets, re-adjusting a relative position of at least one main service data packet of a main service data section, the main service data section including a plurality of main service data packets, and multiplexing the mobile service data of the data group and the main service data of the main service data section in burst units. Herein, a position of an audio data packet among the main service data packets of the main service data section may be re-adjusted. Also, a position of an audio data packet included in the main service data section may be re-adjusted based upon a multiplexing position of the main service data section.

摘要： A digital television (DTV) receiving system includes a known data detector, and a channel impulse response (CIR) estimator, a CIR calculator, a coefficient calculator, and a multiplier. The known data detector detects positions of known data and field sync data included in a data group. The CIR estimator estimates CIRs of the data included in the data group using the detected positions of the field sync data and the known data. The CIR calculator performs interpolation or extrapolation based on a characteristic of each data region included in the data group. The coefficient calculator calculates equalization coefficients using the estimated CIRs, and the multiplier multiplies the data in the data group with the coefficients.

摘要： A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are disclosed. A time zone identifier is inserted into program table information of a broadcasting signal and the broadcasting signal is transmitted/received. The digital broadcasting system can calculate a local time of a region, in which the digital broadcasting system is located, using the time zone identifier. Accordingly, although the position of the digital broadcasting system is changed, it is possible to process the broadcasting signal related to the local time without an error.

摘要： A method of processing broadcast data in a broadcast transmitting system is presented. The method includes performing Reed-Solomon (RS) encoding and Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) encoding on mobile service data bytes to generate an RS frame, wherein the RS frame comprises an RS frame payload including the mobile service data bytes, RS parity data bytes added at bottom ends of columns of the RS frame payload and CRC data bytes added at right ends of rows of the RS frame payload having the RS parity data bytes, dividing the RS frame into a plurality of portions, wherein each of the plurality of portions has an equal size of data bytes, converting the data bytes of the plurality of portions into data bit, and encoding each of the data bits at a code rate of 1/H to output data symbols, wherein H is greater than 1.
