    摘要: An integrated receiver supports adaptive receive equalization. An incoming bit stream is sampled using edge and data clock signals derived from a reference clock signal. A phase detector determines whether the edge and data clock signals are in phase with the incoming data, while some clock recovery circuitry adjusts the edge and data clock signals as required to match their phases to the incoming data. The receiver employs the edge and data samples used to recover the edge and data clock signals to note the locations of zero crossings for one or more selected data patterns. The pattern or patterns may be selected from among those apt to produce the greatest timing error. Equalization settings may then be adjusted to align the zero crossings of the selected data patterns with the recovered edge clock signal.

    摘要: An example method of performing an eye-scan in a receiver includes: generating digital samples from an analog signal input to the receiver based on a sampling clock, the sampling clock phase-shifted with respect to a reference clock based on a phase interpolator (PI) code; equalizing the digital samples based on first equalization parameters of a plurality of equalization parameters of the receiver; adapting the plurality of equalization parameters and performing clock recovery based on the digital samples to generate the PI code; and performing a plurality of cycles of locking the plurality of equalization parameters, suspending phase detection in the clock recovery, offsetting the PI code, collecting an output of the receiver, resuming the phase detection in the clock recovery, and unlocking the equalization parameters to perform the eye scan.

In particular, a preamble for transmission in a sequence of symbols over a multi-wire communications interface, such as a MIPI C-PHY interface, is constructed to include one or more symbols each having a single state transition symbols for signaling a particular calibration preamble from a transmitter to a receiver over the multi-wire communications interface. The preamble, having only single state transition symbols, improves reliability of decoding the symbols at a receiver, including reception and decoding without the use of a calibration clock.

    摘要: A post-equalization technique for recovering data bits from a coherent modulation optical signal is implemented in the digital domain by iteratively performing a decision-directed least mean square channel equalization step, a digital post filter step and a maximum likelihood sequence estimation step so that the symbol decisions of the previous iteration are fed to the decision directed least mean square channel equalization step to successively improve the symbol decisions. In an experimental setup, the iterative technique demonstrated performance improvement mitigating the bandwidth limitation as compared to a corresponding non-iterative technique.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are described for interference cancellation of interference components of a time domain signal in the frequency domain. A time domain sequence is received, and a plurality of overlapping time domain segments is generated from the time domain sequence. Frequency offset compensation to compensate for frequency offset associated with a serving cell is performed in the time domain, and the overlapping time domain segments are then converted to the frequency domain. Additional frequency offset compensation may be performed to compensation for the frequency offset associated with interfering cells.

    摘要: A digital television (DTV) transmitter and a method of coding data in the DTV transmitter method are disclosed. A pre-processes enhanced data by coding the enhanced data for forward error correction (FEC) and expanding the FEC-coded enhanced data. A data formatter generates enhanced data packets including the pre-processed enhanced data and inserting known data to at least one of the enhanced data packets. A first multiplexer multiplexes main data packets with the enhanced data packets, and a data randomizer randomizes the multiplexed data packets. A Reed-Solomon (RS) encoder RS-codes the randomized data packets by adding first parity data, and a data interleaver interleaves the RS-coded data packets. A trellis encoder trellis-encodes the interleaved data packets, wherein the trellis encoder may be initialized when a known data sequence is inputted thereto.
