Abstract: Techniques related to deblock filtering for 360 video are discussed. Such video coding techniques include determining, from a 2D video frame that includes a projection from a 360 video space, a group of pixels for deblock filtering including a first set of pixels and a second set of pixels that are non-neighboring sets of pixels in the individual 2D video frame and include a first pixel of the first set of pixels and a second pixel of the second set of pixels that are neighboring pixels in the 360 video space and deblock filtering the group of pixels.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for the generation of multiple layers of scaled encoded video data compatible with the HEVC standard. Residue from prediction processing may be transformed into coefficients in the frequency domain. The coefficients may then be sampled to create a layer of encoded data. The coefficients may be sampled in different ways to create multiple respective layers. The layers may then be multiplexed and sent to a decoder. There, one or more of the layers may be chosen. The choice of certain layer(s) may be dependent on the desired attributes of the resulting video. A certain level of video quality, frame rate, resolution, and/or bit depth may be desired, for example. The coefficients in the chosen layers may then be assembled to create a version of the residue to be used in video decoding.

Abstract: Trajectory planning is described for video stabilization. In one example, a sequence of video frames is received and low-pass filtered. If a subset of the low-pass filtered frames are determined to be zero-motion frames, then a smooth trajectory is estimated for the for the zero-motion frames. Jitter is removed from the zero-motion frames using the smooth trajectory and frame warping is applied to the zero-motion frames with jitter removed.

Abstract: A method for image content classification is described herein. The method includes counting a number of distinct color numbers in an image. The method also includes clustering blocks with a same distinct color number into a same class and determining a block occupancy rate of each color number for the image. Finally, the method includes classifying the image according to the block occupancy rate via a plurality of classifiers communicatively coupled in series.
