Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for addressing timing advance (TA) in non-terrestrial network communication is disclosed herein. A wireless transmit and receive unit (WTRU) may receive system information from a base station attached to an airborne or spaceborne vehicle that indicates a physical random access channel (PRACH) resource. The WTRU may determine a timing offset based on a plurality of information, such as the location information and the system information. The WTRU may transmit a preamble using the timing offset via the PRACH resource. The base station may receive the preamble and send a random access response (RAR) that includes, for example, a TA command. The WTRU may receive the RAR including the TA command and combine the timing offset with the TA command to determine an actual TA, after which the WTRU may use the actual TA for uplink transmissions.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for targeted wake-up and frame enhancement for energy harvesting are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a station (STA) may compromise: receiving, during an energy detection state, a zero energy (ZE) frame from an access point (AP) that indicates a presence of an energy harvesting (EH) window; harvesting energy for a determined time duration during the EH window; and receiving, during an information decoding state, a data portion of the ZE frame based on a current stored energy of the STA being above a first threshold and a signal strength of the received ZE frame being above a second threshold.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for providing Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) techniques for a non-terrestrial network. For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit, to a satellite base station (BS), uplink (UL) feedback that includes configuration information for redundancy versions (RVs) and cross redundancy versions (cRVs). The WTRU may receive one or more first RVs associated with a first transport block (TB). The WTRU may receive one or more second RVs associated with a second TB and at least one cross redundancy version (cRV) associated with the first TB and second TB. The cRV may include parity bits generated from both the first TB and second TB. If at least one of the first TB or the second TB is unsuccessfully decoded, the WTRU may decode the first TB and second TB jointly based on the at least one cRV.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a downlink communication from a network over a first interface transmitted to one or more WTRUs in a group of WTRUs. The WTRU may determine an access class of the WTRU based on a packet loss percentage of the downlink communication. The access class may be associated with a contention window for accessing a second interface. The WTRU may transmit packet loss information to the one or more WTRUs over the second interface in the contention window. The WTRU may receive packet loss feedback from the one or more WTRUs over the second interface. The WTRU may determine that the access class of the WTRU is a highest class of the one or more WTRUs. The WTRU may transmit a single groupcast negative acknowledgement (gNACK) to the network on behalf of the one or more WTRUs over the first interface.

Abstract: An unmanned aerial system (UAS) may execute a mission planned by a UAS traffic management (UTM) system. The UAS may receive a mission planning response message from the UTM that includes a mission route for the UAS to navigate and a configuration of one or more trigger events. The mission route may be made up of a sequence of waypoints in an airspace. Each of the waypoints may be configured with a dynamic path conforming profile (PCP) a dynamic required navigation performance (RNP) value. The UAS may monitor at least the RNP value in one or more time intervals to determine if a trigger event occurs. The UAS may transmit a path conformance status report to the UTM upon determining that a trigger event of the one or more trigger events occurred. The path conformance status report may indicate conformance to one or more parameters specified in the PCP.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless transmissions based on backscattering. A backscatter indication message (BID) is received from an access point (AP). An interrogation signal is received. Uplink data is transmitted to the AP based on the BID and the interrogation signal. In some implementations, the interrogation signal is received from the AP. In some implementations, the BID indicates a backscatter duration, and the uplink data is transmitted to the AP for the backscatter duration. In some implementations, the uplink data is transmitted to the AP concurrently with receiving the interrogation signal. In some implementations, energy is harvested from the interrogation signal. In some implementations, the uplink data is transmitted to the AP subsequent to the interrogation signal, based on the energy harvested from the interrogation signal. In some implementations, the interrogation signal includes a compensation signal based on channel conditions and/or based on backscattering from the WTRU.

Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may detect a risk of collision with one or more objects in an airspace serviced by a mobile edge computing (MEC) node. The MEC node may provide an edge detect and avoid (edge-DAA) function for use in the airspace. The UAV may determine a first resolution advisory (RA) to be acted on in order to avoid the collision with the one or more objects based on a local DAA function within the UAV. The UAV may receive, from the MEC node, a second RA to be acted on in order to avoid the collision with the one or more objects based on the edge-DAA function. If the second RA can be acted onto avoid the collision with the one or more objects, the UAV may act on the second RA and may send a message to the MEC node with an acknowledgement.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for chained and delayed wake-up. For example, a station (STA) may determine, at the formation of a group of STAs, a common service period for the group. The STA may determine a deferral time for a first STA of the group. The deferral time may indicate when the first STA wakes up to receive a wake-up packet. The STA may receive, from an access point (AP), during a service period in which the STA acts as a head node for communication with the AP, a wake-up packet addressed to the first STA. The STA may transmit, based on a determination that the deferral time associated with the wake-up packet addressed to the first STA ends after the service period in which the STA acts as a head node, a wake-up command that includes the wake-up packet addressed to the first STA.
