First, second and third quantization values respectively corresponding to the frequency variation, background brightness and edge state of the wavelet transformed data are determined. The wavelet transformed data is quantized by using a human visual quantization value for each region corresponding to the first, second and third quantization values. The quantized data is entropy-encoded to generate compressed image data.

    摘要: The fractal image compression device of the present invention contemplates a control unit for dividing a composite image into a plurality of range blocks and a plurality of domain blocks, classifying the range blocks and domain blocks into several classes according to their respective attributes, and controlling an overall operation of the device. A page memory stores image data received from an external source, and provides output of the image data via control of the control unit. A domain block memory receives first pixel data within the domain blocks from the page memory, and stores the first pixel data via control of the control unit. A range block memory receives second pixel data within the range blocks from the page memory, and stores the second pixel data via control of the control unit. A slope and offset detecting unit spacially-transforms the first pixel data within the domain blocks to correspond one-to-one with corresponding second pixel data within the range blocks, calculates slope and offset values of contractive compression functions corresponding to the spacially-transformed domain blocks and the range blocks, calculates background sensitivities and edge sensitivities from the second pixel data within the range blocks, and calculates and provides output of distortion errors by multiplying brightness differences between corresponding pixels within the spacially-transformed domain blocks and the range blocks by the background sensitivities and the edge sensitivities. An image compression memory stores, as compression data, locations and the slope and offset values corresponding to ones of the domain blocks having minimum distortion errors, via control of the control unit.

    摘要: A fractal image compression method performed in a digital image processing device includes the steps of: dividing image data representative of a composite image into a plurality of range blocks each having a first predetermined size; designating, for each of the range blocks, a plurality of domain blocks each having a second predetermined size, wherein each one of the plurality of domain blocks has a subportion that includes an entire portion of the corresponding range block; calculating coefficients of a contractive transformation function to match a plurality of spacially transformed domain blocks to each range block; calculating distortion errors between the range blocks and their corresponding pluralities of spacially transformed domain blocks; comparing the distortion errors among the spacially transformed domain blocks for each corresponding range block, and selecting a spacially transformed domain block having a minimum distortion error as a maximum similarity block for each corresponding range block; and storing, as a fractal code, a location index and coefficients of the contractive transformation function for each of the maximum similarity blocks.

The method for controlling the sensor network includes generating, at a sensor node, sensing data; transmitting, at the sensor node, the sensing data to a plurality of sink nodes; and forwarding, at the sink nodes receiving the sensing data from the sensor node, the sensing data to a gateway. Hence, it is possible to satisfy the reliability required in the safety-critical system with the minimum traffic.
