Orbital angular momentum (OAM)-based multiplexing includes accessing distinct data streams to be multiplexed and transmitted according to a corresponding plurality of OAM modes. The OAM-based multiplexing further includes generating a set of antenna element-specific signals corresponding to individual antenna elements of an antenna array. Individual ones of the antenna element-specific signals are based on corresponding distinct data streams.

Embodiments of a variable inductor and a communication device are generally described herein. The variable inductor may comprise a signal wire and a control wire to receive a direct current (DC) control current. The variable inductor may further comprise a magnetic material integrated with the signal wire and the control wire. When a DC control current applied to the control wires takes a first current value, an inductance between an input node and an output node on the signal wire may take a first inductance value. When the DC control current takes a second current value, the inductance between the input node and the output node may take a second inductance value.

A method and system for self-interference cancellation in a wireless communication device. The wireless communication device can include a first interference detector, a second interference detector, an interference canceler, and a controller. The first interference detector can be configured to detect interference in a received signal. The interference canceler can be configured to perform one or more interference cancellation processes on the received signal. The second interference detector can be configured to detect interference remaining in an interference canceled signal processed by the interference canceler. The controller can be configured to enable or disable the interference canceler based on the detection of the first and/or the second interference detectors.

The present application discloses device and system embodiments that address mobile device integration considerations for various categories of UV sensors, including cameras, photodiodes, and chemical sensors. The UV sensors may use the functionalities of the existing in-built sensors in conventional mobile devices, and/or integrate additional components specific to UV sensing. By optimally positioning the sensors, UV sensing and other collateral functionalities (e.g., charging a photovoltaic cell integrated with the mobile device) can be realized in parallel.

A radar device may include a digital to analog converter (DAC) stage. The DAC stage may generate a plurality of analog signals. The DAC stage may generate a different analog signal for each transmitter chain of a plurality of transmitter chains. Each analog signal of the plurality of analog signals may represent a single digital signal. Each transmitter chain of the plurality of transmitter chains may include a transmit chain portion and switched analog beamforming network (BFN). The transmit chain portion may generate a plurality of intermediate analog signals representative of the corresponding analog signal. The switched analog BFN may generate a plurality of analog transmit signals for an intermediate analog signal of the plurality of intermediate analog signals. The plurality of analog transmit signals may include a beam formed in accordance with a state of the switched analog BFN.
