    摘要: The present invention provides a biometric authentication apparatus realizing reduction in thickness while holding high authentication precision. The biometric authentication apparatus includes: a light source emitting light in a wavelength range including a wavelength range for authentication toward a living body; a microlens array condensing light from the living body and selectively transmitting light in the wavelength range for authentication; an imaging device obtaining image data of the living body on the basis of the light condensed by the microlens array; and an authentication unit authenticating the living body on the basis of the image data obtained by the imaging device.

    摘要: A biometrics authentication system having a small and simple configuration and being capable of implementing both of biometrics authentication and position detection is provided. A biometrics authentication system includes: a light source emitting light to an object; a microlens array section condensing light from the object; a light-sensing device obtaining light detection data of the object on the basis of the light condensed by the microlens array section; a position detection section detecting the position of the object on the basis of the light detection data obtained in the light-sensing device; and an authentication section, in the case where the object is a living body, performing authentication of the living body on the basis of the light detection data obtained in the light-sensing device.

    摘要: An optical disk apparatus includes a light emitting unit, a light detecting unit, a tracking error signal generating unit, and a tracking control unit. The light emitting unit emits a single light beam onto an optical disk. The light detecting unit includes at least three light detecting portions, each being configured to receive light reflected off the optical disk and produce corresponding output. The at least three light detecting portions are arranged in a track direction of the optical disk. The tracking error signal generating unit generates at least two types of the tracking error signal using the outputs from the at least three light detecting portions. The tracking control unit performs tracking control on the optical disk on the basis of the tracking error signal.

    摘要: A focus controller for focusing a light beam and positioning the focused light beam onto a signal recording layer of a signal recording media is disclosed. The controller comprises a light beam focusing means having a numerical aperture of 0.6 or more; a focus controlling means for positioning the light beam focused by the light beam focusing means onto the signal recording layer of the recording media; and an offset adjusting means for adjusting an offset between the focused light beam positioned by the focus controlling means and the signal recording layer of the recording media. The controller positions the light beam focused by an objective lens onto the signal recording layer of a recording media; moves the objective lens within a predetermined optical-axial range, detects an amplitude of a signal read from the recording media at either end of the optical-axial range, and adjusts an offset between the focused light beam positioned by the objective lens and the signal recording layer, depending on a difference between the amplitudes of the detected reproduced signal.
