    摘要: A non azide gas generant composition of nitroguanidine and an oxidizer such as phase stabilized ammonium nitrate is provided. A gas generant having nitroguanidine and phase stabilized ammonium nitrate has many desirable characteristics such as little production of ash and the production of essentially toxic free exhaust gas. When nitroguanidine is compressed into a pellet it has needle shaped crystals that bend or distort. When the gas generant pellets are subjected to thermal cycling some nitroguanidine crystals will return to their native conformation resulting in pellet growth. To eliminate this pellet growth, nitroguanidine is passed through a vibrating ball mill. The media in the vibrating ball mill pulverizes the nitroguanidine into an amorphous crumb.

    摘要: A multi-section telescoping pole for manipulating a tool. Sections of the pole have apertures. A pinch safety locking assembly includes a button configured for movement by a digit on a user's hand to a first position by a first resilient member when received in aligned first and second apertures to restrain the second section from moving relative to the first section and to a second position against a resistance provided by the first resilient member and against an elastic stop to permit relative longitudinal movement between the first and second sections. The pinch safety locking assembly is additionally configured to facilitate assembly by movement of the button by use of an excessive force to a third position against a combined resistance of the first resilient member and the elastic stop to permit relative movement between the pinch safety locking assembly and the second section.

    摘要: A synthetic resin, fiberglass reinforced tubular member having an integrally attached metallic element is disclosed, along with a pressure gelation method of fabricating the same. The tubular member is used in making electrical hot line tools, and to this end the metallic element is composited to the tube body without use of metallic fasteners or the like. In practice, a preimpregnated fiberglass material is wrapped about a mandrel to present a predetermined number of layers thereof, whereupon the metallic attachment is temporarily affixed to the fiberglass layer, preferably by placing strips of the wrapped material against the edges of the attachment and in bridging relationship to the wrapping. The fiberglass material is then cured to embed the attachment in the sidewall and yield a fused, void-free monolithic structure. The preferred pressure gelation curing technique also serves to form upraised ridges of fiberglass material along the length of the attachment to further ensure creation of an essentially integral unit.

    摘要: A tissue and organ extractor is provided for use during laparoscopic surgical procedures. The tissue and organ extractor has a handle, an elongated shank, and a flexible collapsible working end. The handle includes lock for locking a grasping instrument, such as forceps, securely in place in relation to the tissue and organ extractor. The extractor is inserted through a cannula into an abdominal cavity and the tissue or organ to be removed is manipulated into the working end by a grasping instrument. The extractor, grasping instrument and tissue are removed from the abdominal cavity through the cannula. The working end envelops the tissue and, during removal, compresses the enveloped tissue.
