    摘要: An improvement for a steering differential for a tracked vehicle comprising a liquid cooled, hydraulically operated disc brake, two of which are normally used upon the differential to brake and steer the vehicle. A number of stationary discs are keyed internally to a brake body, with a number of rotating discs dispersed therebetween and splined to a braking axle of the differential, the rotating and stationary discs being hydraulically compressed together to apply braking torque to the braking axle. Oil or other suitable liquid is pumped through the brake body and radially through grooves on the faces of the discs to prevent excessive heating of the discs and the brake.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for a hot stamp imprinter which imprints ink from an inked print ribbon onto a substrate. The imprinter includes multiple printhead assemblies, with one or more heater elements, mounted on a frame. An actuatable backup assembly, also mounted on the frame, corresponds to each printhead assembly, wherein the backup assemblies are actuatable in series or parallel, to move, from a rest position, toward the printhead assembly, to an imprint position, to transfer ink from the print ribbon onto the substrate. A temperature probe disposed in each printhead is coupled to the control unit, which individually and sequentially energizes the heater elements of the respective printheads so that only one printhead assembly is energized at any one time. A spring biased dancer assembly having a idler roller maintains a tension on the inked print ribbon as the inked print ribbon is transferred from a supply reel to a rewind reel. The dancer assembly is coupled to a first encoder which controls a drag brake on the supply reel based on a position of the dancer assembly. A second idler roller is coupled to a second encoder for measuring the rate at which the ribbon is transferred from the supply reel to the rewind reel. The control unit increments the inked print ribbon a short interval to move an unused portion of the inked print ribbon between the printhead and backup assemblies, and then, after a subsequent imprint, increments the print ribbon a long interval to move an unused portion of the ribbon between the printhead and backup assemblies.

    摘要: A message holder for use in vehicles or home or other building windows or the like provides for the display of a message inserted therein. The holder is formed of at least one sheet of transparent material and contains a central space in which a message, such as a bumper sticker, may be temporarily installed for display. Suspension rods are pivotally attached to opposite ends of the holder and have suction cups to provide for the attachment of the holder to any suitable surface. The suspension rods may be locked at any desired angle in order to allow a message displayed within the holder to be seen clearly even through a sloped window, as in the rear window of many vehicles. The holder provides for the temporary display of a bumper sticker or other message as desired without the need to adhesively secure the sticker to a surface and the resulting difficulty of subsequent removal and possible marring of the finish. An alternative version includes suction cups on attachment lugs extending from each end of the holder.
