    摘要: In cellular mobile networks handover between base stations of adjacent cells requires the identity, address and frequency of all adjacent cells to be known to other elements of the network. Conventional networks can be extended by the addition of unlicensed-radio access networks. These include an access network controller (303) preferably connected via a broadband network (302) to a plurality of low-power local base stations (301), which communicate with mobile stations (1) over an unlicensed radio interface. The number and changing location of the local base station renders the operation and maintenance required to enable handover from the conventional network to these access networks prohibitively complex. This difficulty is alleviated by assigning the whole access network a single identifier. With this arrangement regardless of which base station mini-cell (304) an active call is being handed-over to, the conventional network will be able to route the request to the access network controller.

The base station systems are adapted to communicate with mobile terminals over a licensed public mobile network air interface and with the core network portion over a predetermined network interface. The network also includes at least one local base station system that is arranged to communicate with the core network portion over the predetermined network interface. This local base station system is further adapted to communicate with mobile terminals over an unlicensed radio interface. The local base station system makes use of an existing fixed network based on IP.

    摘要: The invention comprises a method for a mobile terminal (1010) to register to a generic access node controller, GANC (1030) in a Circuit Switched Services over Long Term Evolution using Generic Access Network, CSOLTEVGAN architecture. In current procedures for roaming, the mobile terminal (1010) receives an address to a serving GANC (1030) in the same VPLMN from a default GANC (1050) in the HPLMN, This procedure results in a lot of signaling towards the default GANC (1050). The current invention overcomes this problem by adapting the mobile terminal (1010) to determine system information about the E-UTRAN cell by which the mobile terminal (1010) is served and to build a FQDN string based on the system information. This FQDN string is sent to a DNS server (1060) which resolves it to an IP address to a GANC (1030) located in the same VPLMN as the mobile terminal (1010). This IP address is used by the mobile terminal (1010) to connect and register itself to the GANC (1030).

    摘要: In a Circuit Switched Services over Long Term Evolution via Generic Access Network, CSoLTEvGAN architecture (600), relations between E-UTRAN cells (9201) and Generic Access Network, GAN cells (9101) are configured manually in a generic access node controller, GANC (910). This may become a tremendous burden for the operator. The current invention overcomes this by automatically build the needed relations. This is accomplished by determining at the GANC (910), cell identification information for an E-UTRAN cell (9201) and cell identification information for a GERAN or UTRAN cell (1101) overlaying the E-UTRAN cell (9201). The GAN cell (9101) is determined based on the cell identification information for the GERAN or UTRAN cell (1101). An entry within a translation table (1000) is created so that the cell identification information for the E-UTRAN cell (9201) is mapped to the cell identification information for the GAN cell (9101), or vice versa.

    摘要: An end node in a packet-switched network is proposed wherein the end node is arranged to exchange packets consisting of a packet header and payload data with a server node connected to the packet-switched network. The end node includes at least one module adapted to extract quality of service parameter values from the headers of packets received over the packet-switched network and to insert the extracted quality of service parameter value in the headers of packets destined for transmission to the server node over the packet-switched network. In this manner the end node automatically adapts the quality of service parameters received over the packet-switched network to correspond with the type of quality of service defined in received packets. Such a system means that only the server node need be configured with the quality of service parameters applicable on the particular packet switched network, so greatly reducing the installation and configuration overheads in a multi-user network.
