摘要： Needle protector assemblies including needle assemblies and needle protectors for housing used blood collection needles are disclosed. The needle protectors are single-piece protectors that include an open distal end for receiving a needle hub (with a needle mounted thereon). A retaining member locks the needle hub when the needle hub is substantially retracted. A stop engages the needle hub in a fully retracted position such that a needle post is completely contained within an interior chamber of the needle protectors. A viewing slot in the needle protectors is provided.

An example tab for use with a medical container includes opposing sheets sealed to define an open ended chamber into which a port is to be at least partially positioned. The port is to enable access to the medical container. The tab includes a tear seal defined by each of the opposing sheets and a first guide positioned on a first side of each of the tear seals. The tab includes a second guide positioned on a second side of each of the tear seals, wherein the first and second guides are to enable a tear to propagate substantially between the guides and adjacent the tear seals.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a blood filter assembly is provided that includes the steps of providing a first housing sheet and a second housing sheet. The method includes locating and sealing at least one port onto each of the first and second housing sheets. The method includes locating the filtration medium between the first housing sheet and the second housing sheet. The method includes applying heat and pressure to form at least one seal that commingles the first and second housing sheets along with the filtration medium, wherein the periphery of the seal commingles only the first and second housing sheets.

A content capability request message includes a quality of service request and/or a subscriber profile request for use with content screening and subscriber specific advertisements. The present invention includes a series of methods for determining content capabilities for data transmission over a transaction between a content provider and a subscriber in which a content capability clearing house is used to efficiently broker and manage the capability among multiple network providers.

The billing mediation system includes a record receiver, a record correlator, a look ahead cache, a set of buffers, and a session records database. The set of buffers includes a single segment insert buffer, a multi segment insert buffer, a multi segment update buffer and a billing finalization update buffer. A method for correlating session records is also provided. The method includes receiving a session record, placing the session record into a segment buffer based on the type of record, and updating a look ahead cache including providing a timestamp for the last update for a session. The transfer of correlated session records to a billing system is based on whether records for a session have been received based on session tracking within the look ahead cache.
