摘要: The invention relates to a filtration unit for enabling the selective leucocytapheresis of a fluid containing blood platelets. The filtration unit includes an external pouch provided with an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice, the pouch enclosing a porous element interposed between the orifices. The porous element encloses a leucocytapheresis medium impregnated with a polymer, the polymer having the general formula -(A)m-(B)n- (I), wherein A is a unit originating from an alkoxyalkyl acrylate or alkoxyalkyl methacrylate monomer, B is a unit originating from a hydrophobic polymerisable monomer, and m and n are integers, the sum of which, m+n, is equal to 100, m being an integer greater than 80.

摘要: A method for inversion counting or phlebotomist monitoring can include identifying, by processing circuitry, whether a blood collection tube is present in image data from a camera situated to capture images of a phlebotomist collecting a sample, in response to identifying the blood collection tube is present in the field of view of the camera based on the image data, identifying whether the blood collection tube includes blood therein, after identifying the blood is present in the blood collection tube, counting, based on the image data, a number of inversions performed on the blood collection tube, and in response to determining the number of inversions performed is less than a required number of inversions, issuing an alert indicating that insufficient inversions were performed.

摘要: The pressure of fluid being conveyed through a fluid flow path during a biological fluid procedure is detected during the procedure. The fluid is conveyed through the fluid flow path 1) at a first pre-determined rate if pressure is zero to a first pressure threshold; 2) at the first pre-determined rate if pressure is greater than the first pressure threshold but less than or equal to a second pressure threshold and if an immediately preceding rate is equal to the first pre-determined rate; 3) at a second pre-determined rate if pressure is greater than the first pressure threshold but less than or equal to the second pressure threshold and if an immediately preceding rate is equal to the second pre-determined rate; and 4) at the second pre-determined rate if pressure value is greater than the second pressure threshold but less than or equal to a third pressure threshold.

摘要: A fluid filtration system comprising a cross-flow filter is arranged to permit a first pump to recirculate part of the retentate of the filter to the inlet of the cross-flow filter and a second pump to return part of the permeate to the inlet of the cross-flow filter. A third pump is configured supply source fluid to the inlet of the filter. The flow path between the second pump and the cross-flow filter inlet may include an adsorption filter that may selectively remove contaminants, toxins, or pathogens in the permeate. A controller may control the first, second and third pumps to provide predetermined flow ratios among the fluid flow paths of the system in order to achieve a desired filtration level. This system may be applicable to the removal of harmful substances from blood, by first separating the plasma from the blood and then removing harmful substances from the plasma.

摘要: A hollow fiber membrane laminate that includes a plurality of hollow fiber membranes wound to form a plurality of layers in a cylinder shape. The hollow fiber membranes are wound around a central axis while reciprocating a feeding point of the hollow fiber membranes along a central axis. Hollow fiber membranes adjacent to each other in each respective layer are separated by a predetermined separation distance. A speed differential z is reduced for successive layers approaching an outer side of the cylinder to maintain the predetermined separation distance. The speed differential z has a value obtained by dividing a pitch of the hollow fiber membranes within a respective layer by a traverse reciprocating distance.
