摘要： A method for delivering a plurality of individual surgical fasteners. The method includes the step of providing a surgical fastener delivery device having a drive mechanism with distal and proximal ends, the drive mechanism comprising moving and fixed opposing members, the moving member being moveable proximally and distally with respect to the delivery device, and the fixed member being fixed with respect to the delivery device, the device having the plurality of surgical fasteners located between the moving and the fixed members. The method further involves the step of penetrating tissue and placing a distal end one of the surgical fasteners within tissue, by moving the moving member distally. The method further involves the step of deploying a distal end of one of the surgical fasteners by moving the moving member proximally.

A first position for moving the moving member distally and piercing tissue, and a second position for moving the moving member proximally, thereby deploying the distal end of the fastener.

摘要： Circular stapling instruments for cutting and applying one or more surgical staples to tissue are disclosed. The instruments include various forms of feedback systems designed to provide at least one mode of feedback to the surgeon when the anvil has been attached to the device and/or when the anvil has been attached to the device and oriented in a firing position. Various types of feedback indicators are disclosed such as illumination devices, sound generating devices and vibration generating devices. In various embodiments, the feedback indicator comprises at least one illumination device mounted on the anvil which indicates that the anvil has been properly attached to the instrument and which can also serve to illuminate the surgical site.

摘要： Circular stapling instruments for cutting and applying one or more surgical staples to tissue are disclosed. 摘要： A delivery device for delivering a plurality of individual surgical fasteners is disclosed. The delivery device has a drive mechanism having a distal and a proximal end, and a first and a second opposing member. The members are moveable proximally and distally with respect to the delivery device, and individually with respect to each other. The device further includes at least one surgical fastener located between the first and the second members. Each of the at least one surgical fasteners has a proximal end and a distal end. The surgical fasteners are preferably made from a superelastic nickel titanium alloy. Additionally an actuator having at least three sequential positions is included. The first position of the actuator is for moving the drive mechanism distally. The second position is for moving the first member proximally to partially deploy the distal end of the fastener. The third position of the actuator is for moving the second member proximally, to fully deploy the distal end of the fastener.

摘要： A biopsy device and method are provided for obtaining a tissue sample, such as a breast tissue biopsy sample. The biopsy device includes a disposable probe assembly with an outer cannula having a distal piercing tip, a cutter lumen, and a cutter tube that rotates and translates past a side aperture in the outer cannula to sever a tissue sample. The biopsy device also includes a reusable hand piece with an integral motor and power source to make a convenient, untethered control for use with ultrasonic imaging. External vacuum holes along the outer cannula (probe) that communicate with a vacuum and cutter lumen withdraw bodily fluids while a hemostatic disk-shaped ring pad around the probe applies compression to an external hole in the skin and absorbs fluids.
