    摘要: The present techniques relate to thiourethane compositions formed by reacting a reactive composition containing active molecules having an average of at least one thiol group per active molecule and an average of at least one hydroxyl group per active molecule with a monomer composition containing monomer molecules having an average of at least two isocyanate groups per monomer molecule. The reactions are performed in the presence of an amine catalyst, which may preferentially react thiol groups over hydroxyl groups, thus forming a thiourethane composition having, on average, more hydroxyl groups than thiol groups and more thiourethane groups than urethane groups, on a normalized basis.

    摘要: Mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer compositions, methods of making the mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer compositions, and methods of using the mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer compositions are provided. The mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an epoxide composition to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer. In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters, and crosslinked thiol esters. Adhesive polymer compositions, methods of making the adhesive polymer compositions, and methods of using the adhesive polymer compositions are provided. The adhesive polymer composition can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an epoxide composition to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the adhesive polymer composition.

    摘要: The present techniques relate to formulations that include a first part containing active molecules that have an average of at least one thiol group per active molecule and an average of at least one hydroxyl group per active molecule, and a second part containing monomer molecules that have an average of at least two isocyanate groups per monomer molecule. The composition may be mixed with a catalyst composition that contains at least one amine catalyst and at least one metal catalyst. This mixed catalyst composition will substantially cure a mixture of the first part and the second part within less than about 48 hours at ambient temperature.

    摘要: Process for the production of the insect sex attractant, gossyplure, is provided. The process comprises first disproportionating 1,5-cyclooctadiene and 1-hexene to give 1,5,9-tetradecatriene, then metallating the triene to form a 1-metallo-5,9-tetradecadiene, and finally treating the organometal compound with a C.sub.2 -synthon to give directly 7,11-hexadecadienyl acetate or a substituted 7,11-hexadecadienyl moiety which can readily be converted to the desired acetate.
