    摘要: A headlight for motor vehicles is produced so that it has a light source emitting light rays, a reflector which forms by reflection from the light rays emitted by the light source a light beam which is dispersed in horizontal planes and extends substantially parallel in vertical planes. The reflector has an optical axis, the light source is arranged so that its longitudinal axis extends parallel to the optical axis of the reflector. The reflector has an apex region which is formed so that the light emitted from the light source is reflected by the apex region as light rays converging in horizontal longitudinal planes which produce great images of the light source in lateral edge regions of a measuring screen arranged in front of the reflector. The reflector has regions which are located outside the apex region and reflect the light emitted by the light source with increasing distance from the optical axis as light rays which in horizontal longitudinal planes increasingly less strongly converge and produce smaller images of the light source on the measuring screen which form a horizontal light band. All the images of the light source are arranged underneath a bright/dark limit.

Disposed in the ray path of the light reflected from the reflector (10) there is a lens (18), which is received in a mounting (20) and consists of an elastically deformable material. The lens (18) is acted upon by at least one control element (22), by which a force can be applied to the lens (18) in order to deform it. The light passing through the lens (18) is influenced, i.e. deflected in its direction. In the nondeformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp exhibits a first characteristic, i.e. direction and scatter, and in the deformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp, because of the then different optical effect of the lens (18), exhibits a different, second characteristic.

Light from the light source is reflected as a light beam by the reflector which would illuminate a region (62) of a measuring screen (60) placed in front of the headlight so that the region (62) has a horizontal light-dark boundary without being effected by or without action of the light-permeable disk. A second part of the light beam reflected by the reflector illuminates a second part (66) of the measuring screen between the light-dark boundary (63) and the boundary lines (65a,65b). A portion of the first part of the light beam is at least partially deflected by the optical elements of the light-permeable disk so that it produces the higher lying section of the light-dark boundary associated with the vehicle's own traffic side of the light beam from the low-beam headlight after passing through the disk.

A completely effective high beam is formed by a combination of the light reflected from the second reflector part (18) with the light reflected from the first reflector part (16) in the operating configuration for the high beam light.
