Abstract: An apparatus comprises an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive pixel data corresponding to an exterior view from a vehicle. The processor may be configured to process the pixel data arranged as video frames and perform computer vision operations on the video frames. The computer vision operations may be configured to detect a reference object in the video frames, calculate a first distance to the reference object during a first time period, and calculate a second distance to the reference object during a second time period. The processor may be further configured to compare the second distance to the first distance, determine a presence of a visual obstruction based on the comparison, and generate a control signal to enable a lamp in response to determining the presence of the visual obstruction.

Abstract: Provided is a fog light unit of a vehicle that facilitates attachment and detachment of a light section attached to the vehicle body and is excellent in operability of the portable light. A fog light unit includes a base fixed to a body of the saddle vehicle and a light section that is detachable from the base. The light section has a built-in battery. The base and the light section are connected with a slide mechanism including a guide rail and an engaging portion that slides along the guide rail for engagement. The fog light unit further includes a lock mechanism configured to prohibit a slide motion of the slide mechanism, and the lock mechanism includes a lock pin that protrudes and retracts, and an engagement hole, with which the lock pin engages.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for assisting a user of a first motor vehicle in the operation of the first motor vehicle, which is located in a geographic region. A motor-vehicle-external data server device (16) divides the geographic region into a plurality of geographic sectors. A sensor device of a second motor vehicle, which is also located in the region, detects at least one measurement value, and a control device of the second motor vehicle transmits a sensor signal describing the measurement value to the motor-vehicle-external data server device. The motor-vehicle-external data server device receives a request signal from the first motor vehicle, which, at the time at which the request signal is transmitted, is not prepared to detect a measurement value of the same type. If the motor-vehicle-external data service device determines that the motor vehicles are located within the same geographic sector, the motor-vehicle-external data service device transmits the sensor signal to the first motor vehicle.

Abstract: A lighting apparatus includes: a light source; a sealed housing accommodating the light source therein; and an aiming screw rotatably supported in a through-hole which extends through the housing. Therefore, an optical axis of light emitted from the light source can be adjusted by rotating the aiming screw. A breathing passage communicating inside and outside of the housing with each other is provided inside the aiming screw, so that it is unnecessary to separately provide a breathing passage, thereby enabling decrease in the number of parts, and simplification of the structure. Accordingly, breathing of the housing of the lighting apparatus is achieved using a simple and compact structure.

Abstract: A lighted accessory for a motor vehicle includes a machined aluminum body. The body includes a front wall that has a plurality of openings through it and a cavity behind it. A plurality of lenses are potted in place within the openings. LED lights are installed on the aluminum body in alignment with the lenses. Additional potting compound is applied to cover the LEDs and substantially fill the cavity. A faulty LED board may be replaced by removing a portion of the potting compound and the faulty LED board, replacing the faulty LED board with an operable one, and refilling the removed portion of the potting compound with additional potting compound.
