摘要： An automatic blood pressure monitor having a housing containing a first water and air tight chamber and a second air supply chamber, the chambers being separated by a common wall. Pneumatic equipment is mounted in the first chamber having a flow circuit for inflating and deflating a blood pressure cuff. A filtering unit is mounted in the common wall for retaining particulate material and moisture that is exchanged between the two chambers. The flow circuit has an air inlet port and an air exhaust port which are both located adjacent to the filter contained in the filtering unit whereby particulate material and moisture drawn into the flow circuit is retained upon the filter during inflation cycle and the particulate material and moisture retained on the filter is blown back into the air supply chamber during the deflation cycle. A drain is mounted in the floor of the air supply chamber through which particulate material and moisture collected in the chamber is discharged to the surrounding ambient. A restricted opening is provided in an outer wall of the air supply chamber which allows ambient air to enter the chamber through a tortuous path of travel.

摘要： An apparatus, system and method for temperature measurement of a target site, such a human body site. The invention includes an intelligent temperature probe configured to physically contact a target site and to communicate with a host device, which can be implemented as a hand-held device or as a personal computer. The host device can compute, store and display an accurate predicted temperature, or an actual temperature at thermal equilibrium, of the target site for each of a plurality of different intelligent temperature probes that each have unique and varied operating characteristics. A set of unique operating characteristics for each temperature probe is represented by information communicated between each respective temperature probe and the host device.

摘要： The invention relates to a blood pressure monitor for measuring the blood pressure of a person including a blood pressure cuff. The blood pressure monitor also includes an electro-pneumatic package. The electro-pneumatic package includes a pump, a valve, a pressure sensor, and one or more accelerometers. A pneumatic mechanical coupling is configured to pneumatically and mechanically directly couple the blood pressure cuff to the electro-pneumatic package, wherein a signal from the one or more accelerometers configured to indicate an activity level of the person during a blood pressure measurement. A display is configured to display an indication of the activity level. The invention also relates to a blood pressure monitor wherein an electronics circuit is configured to receive the motion signal from the one or more accelerometers during a blood pressure measurement. The invention also relates to a method for detecting a motion artifact in a non-invasive blood pressure measurement.

摘要： A patch having an infrared (IR) target is placed proximate to the surface of a mammal. The patch may include an insulator for protecting the target from exterior, ambient IR and may include bar codes or other indicia uniquely associated with either the patch or the mammal. The patch may also include a bio-reactive agent for indicating characteristics such as the pH of the mammal's skin. The patch may also include a thermometer for sensing the level of IR radiation from the IR target and may include a display of the temperature associated with such a level. The patch may also include a transmitter for wirelessly communicating information about such level to a remote location. A method of using the patch is also disclosed.
