    摘要: There is disclosed herein a refrigerant container in the form of a bag, or pouch, made from two sheets of multi-layer barrier film material which are heat sealed adjacent their edges to form a closed pouch which has an interior space. The bag may be connected to an access valve provided in a line of a sealed refrigeration system for capturing the refrigerant therefrom. The barrier film material is specially formulated to prevent outward permeation of a refrigerant and to prevent inward permeation of air. A valve stem is provided for filling and emptying the bag.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for effecting the sealing of a well conduit comprises the positioning of a sealing plug unit within a special nipple provided in the well conduit and defining first and second surfaces and a seal bore. The sealing plug unit is provided with external seal elements cooperable with the seal bore and a first and second latching elements respectively cooperable with the first and second surfaces provided on the nipple. The sealing plug is actuated by first passing it downwardly through the nipple and then retracting it upwardly, whereupon the first of the latching elements engages with one of the surfaces on the nipple, thus preventing further upward movement on the assembly and permitting the application of a tensile force to release the plugging unit from the remainder of the unit to bring a camming sleeve into engagement with the second latching element to cam such element outwardly into engagement with an upper recess of the nipple. The sealing plug unit may be removed from the nipple through the application of applied force which effects the release of the camming sleeve holding latch elements in their locked position, thus permitting the sealing plug unit to be forced through the special nipple and discarded into the bottom of the well.

    摘要: The invention provides a subterranean well casing perforating gun device which employs shaped explosive charges to perforate the well casing. The device generally defines an outer tubular housing assembly concentrically insertable in the well and defining a vertical axis, cylindrical chamber. A tubular carrier of polygonal cross sectional configuration is insertable in the chamber in concentric relationship to the cylindrical wall of the cylindrical chamber. Each of the faces of the carrier have a plurality of spaced passages therethrough, each passage having a configuration substantially corresponding to the configuration of the polygonal face. A shaped charge container has its cylindrical body insertable in any selected one of the passages and a radial flange on the outer end for abutting the polygonal face portion adjacent the respective passage, thereby limiting the insertion of each of the containers into the selected passage. Selectively disengageable fastening means are operable from the exterior of the carrier for clamping the radial flange against the respective polygonal face and for selective disengagement therefrom from the exterior of the carrier. The invention also contemplates a method of utilization of the carrier and the gun, as well as to incorporation of same into a particular perforating and gravel packing method and apparatus.

    摘要: An improved blast liner assembly for use in gravel packing or fracturing operations wherein solid materials, in slurry form, are flowed out of the flowbore of a working tool and into the annulus of a wellbore. The blast liner is a cylindrical member that provides a protective shield to the interior retaining section. An angular flow diverter is provided within the blast liner and has a plurality of angled flow diversion channels formed into the inner surface of the blast liner body. Flow of slurry through the blast liner will cause the blast liner to rotate within the retaining section due to the reaction forces imparted to the blast liner from diverting the slurry flow. In this manner, the impingement area presented by the blast liner is increased, and the life of the blast liner extended. The blast liner may also be caused to move axially within the retaining section to further increase the impingement area.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for bonding two tubes in a refrigeration sealed system by soldering. The apparatus includes a pair of jaws which are spring biased in the closed position and a pair of handles for opening the jaws against the spring bias force. The jaws include electrodes having arcuate recesses therein which are arranged in opposed facing aligned relationship so that a pair of tubes may be held between the electrodes. One of the pair of tubers to which the method is applied has a flared end with a larger diameter than the other tube. The ends of the tubes are first cleaned by mechanical means and flux is then applied to the end of the smaller tube. The end of the smaller tube is then slid into the flared end of the other tube in telescoping registry and the telescoped ends are clamped between the electrodes. A solder ring is then positioned around the smaller tube into abutting relationship with the flared end of the other tube. Electric current is supplied to the electrodes to heat the telescoped tube ends so that the flux will melt and cause it to further clean the tube ends. The heat will also melt the solder which is then drawn into the interface area between the telescoped tube ends.
