摘要： Media content that meets pre-fetching criteria may be distributed to the device, in a non-requested instance, and stored in the pre-fetched segments database. Rather than relying on caching methods for the first-time access of a media object, at least a portion of the media object may be pre-stored, prior to any requests for access, on the client's device. Thus, when a user attempts to access a particular media stream from the network, if the client's device already has a segment of the desired media object stored, the stored segment access can be directly from the client's device. To further efficiently use bandwidth, the distribution of the segment of a media object to be stored on a user's local machine, the distribution may be done out of band or based on a balance of network resources.

摘要： The use of a digital camera in communication with a mobile device to determine the intensity of ambient light conditions is described herein. In one example, the digital camera receives light energy representing ambient light. The intensity of the ambient light is determined and, based upon a comparison of that intensity to a setpoint, the mobile device is reconfigured. In another example, a mobile device is described that uses a digital camera to measure ambient light conditions. The mobile device can be configured in various ways based upon a determination of the intensity and/or wavelengths of the ambient light.

摘要： A mobile device of a user may provide an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of the user to other participants of a scheduled meeting. In providing the ETA, the mobile device may retrieve meeting information associated with the scheduled meeting, location information associated with the location of the user, and environmental condition information associated with an intended path of the user to the scheduled meeting. The mobile device may calculate the ETA to the scheduled meeting based on the meeting information, the location information, and the environmental condition information. The calculated ETA may then be transmitted to the other participants.

The genre of the call is compared to a predetermined genre. 摘要： A phone call is enhanced by the addition of localized information. In an example embodiment, a call is placed between a first device and a second wireless device. The call enhancement system is employed to determine a specific geographic location of the second wireless device. The system then abstracts the specific geographic location of the second wireless device into a general geographic location of the second wireless device. The degree of abstraction employed is determined by reference to a configurable privacy setting. The system retrieves content associated with the general geographic location of the second wireless device and packages it for transmission to the first device. The content is transmitted to the first device for presentation on a display of the first device.

摘要： An intelligent abbreviated dialing feature can use a portion of a phone number as a shortcut to dialing. Any portion of a phone number can be input into a communications device such as by pressing buttons on the keypad or speaking into a microphone. A processor in the communications device or on a network accessible by the communications device can generate the phone number register from frequently dialed numbers. The processor can compare the input into the communications device against the phone number register. For each digit of the phone number that is input into the communications device, the processor can search the phone numbers and provide search results with the corresponding numbers. A phone number can be selected from the search results and dialed.
