    摘要: In a vacuum system a baffle-valve acts first as a baffle to reduce the backstreaming of a diffusion pump fluid into the main vacuum chamber being evacuated and secondly it can be used as a valve to provide complete isolation between the diffusion pump and the vacuum chamber. This enables the chamber to be open for service work while the diffusion pump is kept operating for rapid pump down. The foregoing dual use of the baffle/valve increases pumping efficiency because of higher conductance.

    摘要: A method and system for performing memory optimization is described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a plurality of read/write requests, wherein at least a portion of the read/write requests are assigned respective identifiers for associating related requests of the read/write requests. Arrival times of the read/write requests assigned to each of the identifiers is measured and predicted arrival times of future read/write requests assigned to each of the identifiers is determined. A real-time schedule of memory requests is created using the arrival times of the read/write requests and the predicted arrival times. The method includes using the real-time schedule to determine idle periods and performing opportunistic functions in the memory during the idle periods, including performing at least one of garbage collection or translation cache pre-fetch.

    摘要: A luminosity channel may be provided in an electro-optic projection display by beam splitting the incident light source into first and second polarization beams. One polarization beam may be used to illuminate the three modulators for the three primary color channels. The other beam may be utilized to illuminate a white light modulator which provides a luminosity channel. The two beams may be recombined to produce the final image. As a result, in some embodiments, higher resolution, or wider color gamut, and better image quality may be achieved without unduly effecting the light efficiency of the display.
