Abstract: An energy plant includes a plurality of subplants, a high level optimizer, a low level optimizer, and a controller. The plurality of subplants include a cogeneration subplant configured to generate steam and electricity and a chiller subplant electrically coupled to the cogeneration subplant and configured to consume the electricity generated by the cogeneration subplant. The high level optimizer is configured to determine recommended subplant loads for each of the plurality of subplants. The recommended subplant loads include a rate of steam production and a rate of electricity production of the cogeneration subplant and a rate of electricity consumption of the chiller subplant. The low level optimizer is configured to determine recommended equipment setpoints for equipment of the plurality of subplants based on the recommended subplant loads. The controller is configured to operate the equipment of the plurality of subplants based on the recommended equipment setpoints.

Abstract: A central plant optimization system for designing and operating a central plant includes a planning tool, a central plant controller, and an optimization platform. The planning tool is configured to generate a model of the central plant. The central plant controller is configured to receive the model of the central plant from the planning tool and combine the model of the central plant with timeseries data including a timeseries of predicted energy loads to be served by equipment of the central plant. The optimization platform is configured to receive the model of the central plant combined with the timeseries data, construct an optimization problem using the model of the central plant and the timeseries data, solve the optimization problem to determine an optimal allocation of the energy loads across the equipment of the central plant, and provide optimization results to the central plant controller. The central plant controller is configured to use the optimization results to operate the equipment of the central plant to achieve the optimal allocation of the predicted energy loads.

Abstract: A multi-tiered data storage system for building management system (BMS) data includes a plurality of data stores including a first data store and a second data store. The system further includes a data access router configured to provide a consistent endpoint for the BMS data to an application that provides or consumes the BMS data regardless of whether the BMS data is stored in the second data store or the first data store, obtain a requested data object of the BMS data from the second data store in response to a determination that the requested data object is available in the second data store, and obtain the requested data object from the first data store in response to a determination that the requested data object is not available in the second data store.
