    摘要: A sample and hold circuit is disclosed that provides longer hold times. An analog multiplexer circuit is also disclosed that exhibits low switch leakage. The analog multiplexer circuit comprises a shared node, a plurality of input circuits, a control input for selecting one or more of the plurality of input circuits, and an amplifier coupled to the shared node. Each input circuit comprises an input node, a primary input switch for selectively coupling an input to the input node, and a secondary input switch for selectively coupling the input node to the shared node, wherein the secondary input switch comprises one or more transistor switches. The parasitic drain and source diodes of one or more transistor switches in secondary input switch in a selected input circuit are coupled to a voltage that is distinct from an input signal of the selected input circuit. For input circuits not selected, the parasitic drain and source diodes of secondary input switch transistor switches are coupled to an output of the amplifier.

    摘要: A sample and hold circuit is disclosed that provides longer hold times. The sample and hold circuit can be used in a disc drive to provide improved read-to-write and write-to-read mode transitions. The sample and hold circuit has an input and an output, and includes at least one capacitive element for retaining a charge. The capacitive element is connected to a node between the input and the output. The sample and hold circuit includes at least one input switch to selectively connect the capacitive element to the input and at least one output switch to selectively connect the capacitive element to the output. In addition, an amplifier is connected to the node and has an offset voltage. In this manner, a voltage drop across at least one of the input and output switches is limited to the offset voltage.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for storing, accessing, generating and using information about speed limits and speed traps are described. The system includes a positional sensor such as a GPS device. Position information is used to access a database of speed limit and/or speed trap information. The database may be local or remote. Access to a remote database may be achieved using a wireless communications device such as a wireless (cellular) modem. Encountered speed traps are logged in response to the activation of a speed trap alert button by a user of the device or the output of a radar/laser detector. Speed trap position, date and time information is transmitted to the remote database system. Speed limit information is used to control the speed of the automobile as part of a cruise control operation and/or is used to provide the motor vehicle operator with warnings, e.g., that the applicable speed limit is being exceeded. Speed trap information which is retrieved using positional information provided by the GPS device is used to warn the user of the device of speed traps in the user's vicinity as the user approaches the location of the known speed trap.

    摘要: Improved call forwarding methods and apparatus are described. Dialing of multiple call forwarding locations in parallel is supported. Distinguishing between fax and voice calls and using different forwarding numbers for each type of call is also supported. Forwarding of facsimiles by E-mail as an alternative or in addition to forwarding by phone is also supported. Call forwarding security features such as requiring an answering party to enter a PIN before being connected to the calling party are also described. The call forwarding services can be implemented in the PSTN using AIN techniques avoiding the need to purchase or upgrade customer premise equipment to receive the call forwarding service. Alternatively, the call forwarding methods may be implemented using customer premise equipment such as a PBX.

    摘要: A non-linear transconductance amplifier includes a differential input stage and a non-linear transconductance stage operatively coupled to the differential input stage. The differential input stage includes first and second inputs forming a non-inverting input and an inverting input, respectively, of the amplifier for receiving an input differential signal. The non-linear transconductance stage generates an output of the amplifier having a linear transconductance that is substantially zero when the input differential signal is within a predetermined range and a non-linear large transconductance when the input differential signal is outside the predetermined range. The amplifier provides improved response time to widely varying load conditions while possessing a low loop bandwidth. A threshold region where the output of the amplifier is substantially zero can be operatively adjusted and tightly controlled. Furthermore, the amplifier accomplishes these advantages without employing timing circuitry and without the necessary overhead and/or noise often associated with such timing circuitry.
