    摘要: A method of producing an amide from the corresponding nitrile comprising the following steps, i) providing a microorganism capable of producing a nitrile hydratase biocatalyst, ii) culturing the microorganism in a growth medium, iii) storing the microorganism, iv) contacting the nitrile by the microorganism in an aqueous medium and thereby converting the nitrile to the amide, wherein the microorganism is stored as none actively growing free cells in a storage medium that comprises water. The stored microorganism may be as whole microbial cells, this may be in the form of a cell paste recovered from a fermentation medium; an aqueous suspension of the microbial cells, prepared using a suitable suspending medium such as water, physiological saline solution, or a suitable buffer solution, such as phosphate or comprises the fermentation broth that contains components of the fermentation culture medium and products of microbial culture. The microorganism exhibits no significant loss of activity, for example if stored even for at least 2 days, especially 3 to 28 days.

    摘要: A process of preparing an ethylenically unsaturated amide or an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or salt thereof from the corresponding ethylenically unsaturated nitrile wherein the nitrile is subjected to a hydration or hydrolysis reaction in an aqueous medium in the presence of a biocatalyst, wherein the nitrite contains above 2 ppm acrolein and the amide or carboxylic acid or salt thereof contains less than 2 ppm acrolein. The process can be used to prepare high purity acrylamide or acrylic acid (salt) from low quality acrylonitrile containing high levels of acrolein. Suitable biocatalysts include microorganisms of the Rhodococcus genus.

    摘要: An emulsion comprising an organic discontinuous phase which is distributed throughout a continuous aqueous phase, wherein the organic phase comprises a light sensitive active ingredient, and the emulsion is stabilised by a water soluble stabilising material in the aqueous phase, wherein the water-soluble stabilising material is a water-soluble stabilising polymer which has a plurality of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups and is selected from partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate and addition copolymers formed from (i) at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid esters and (ii) at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride, and wherein the organic phase further comprises, a) an organic solvent which is a liquid at 25° C. and/or b) an organic phase stabilising material comprises hydrophobic moieties and is a material which is more soluble in the organic phase than the aqueous phase. The composition is useful for protecting light sensitive active ingredients which would otherwise in neat form decompose on exposure to light, preferably sunlight. The invention is of particular value when the light sensitive active ingredient is a pesticide, herbicide or a veterinary treatment active. Preferably the light sensitive active ingredient is a light sensitive pyrethroids. The invention also contemplates a domestic pest control formulation comprising light sensitive pesticides.
