    摘要： A therapeutic device for providing intermittent negative pressure wound healing includes a fluid mover, a compressible therapeutic member operably connected to the fluid mover and actuated thereby, the compressible therapeutic member operably disposably used on a patient in a manner to deliver therapy to the patient as function of actuation of the fluid mover and a controller for controlling application of a negative pressure to the compressible therapeutic member about a wound in a manner to compress the compressible therapeutic member using negative pressure to subject the wound and the compressible therapeutic member to a first predetermined pressure to maintain a seal between the compressible therapeutic member and the wound and decompressing the compressible therapeutic member to a second sub-atmospheric pressure above the first predetermined pressure sufficient to maintain the compressible therapeutic member in generally sealed contact with the wound.

The apparatus can further include software for recognizing speech, generating speech and controlling animation of the articulated toy. In addition, said computer-based device is capable of learning and storing information pertaining to each of said human users such as name, age, sex, favorite color, etc., and to interact with each of said human users on an individual basis, providing entertainment tailored specifically to each of said human users.

    摘要： An access control apparatus and method. Enrollment is conducted at a centralized server and enrollment data, such as identification data is downloaded to plural local access units at respective entrances to a restricted area. The local access units then collect data of a person upon an attempted entry in to the area and compare the data with downloaded enrollment data to determine if the person is authorized for access. If the person is authorized, an access control device is operated to open a door, gate, or the like of the entrance. The enrollment data can be biometric data and the same type or different type of biometric data can be collected at the local access units. If a different type of data is collected at the local access units and is correlated to data stored on the local access unit, data of the same type as the downloaded data is collected and compared to the downloaded data for access control. The enrollment data can be non environmentally affected data, such as fingerprint parameter data and the different type of data can be environmentally affected data, such as facial parameter data.

    摘要： A laparoscopy simulator includes two rods and an orientation sensor that determines the orientation of the rods. An optical sensor is used to determine measurements of each rod based on the rotation of the rod around a central axis of the rod and a sliding of the rod along the central axis. An accelerometer is used to determine additional measurements of each rod based on a rotation of the rod around two additional rotation axes of the simulator. The measurements are used to determine the overall orientation of the rods.
