摘要： An improved process for applying a coating or film of at least one catalytically active element to the external surface of a porous catalyst carrier having a large surface area by contacting said catalyst carrier with a solution of said at least one catalytically active element, wherein the improvement comprises:(1). Contacting said catalyst carrier with an organic liquid, wherein the saturation of said catalyst carrier is not exceeded;(2). Adding a solution of said at least one catalytically active element to said catalyst carrier; and(3). Heating said catalyst carrier to remove liquid therefrom.

摘要： There are provided shaped catalysts, particularly for the formation and/or equipping of reaction chambers with catalytically active surfaces, consisting of a structural reinforcing agent of ferrous metal, a layer of a heat resistant carrier material on the structural reinforcing agent as well as a catalytically active component on the carrier material; the body of the structural reinforcing agent consists of iron or steel and its surface is provided with a nonscaling, adhesive and anchoring enhancing aluminum/iron diffusion layer obtained by a tempering of aluminum coated iron or steel at a temperature between 600.degree. and 1200.degree. C. for at least one minute. There is also disclosed a process for making the catalysts.

摘要： In a monolithic carrier catalyst containing a catalytically active substance for the purification of a stream of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine, the improvement comprises providing an increasing concentration of catalytically active substance on the monolithic carrier catalyst, wherein the concentration increases in the direction of flow of the exhaust gases. The catalyst is particularly useful in oxidizing and/or reducing the noxious substances in automotive exhaust gases.

摘要： An improvement in producing an adherent metal oxide coating on a solid body comprises incorporating a nitrogen-containing polymer in a dispersion of the metal oxide into which the body is dipped. The pH of the dispersion is controlled in order to stabilize the dispersion. The body can then be dried. The invention is especially useful for applying a metal oxide coating to a ceramic material employed as a catalyst carrier for automotive exhaust gas purification.
