    摘要: When fitting a patient for an intraocular lens, a series of measurements is taken on the patient's eye that determines a required lens power. Next, a range of preferred shape factors may be found, which determine the base (i.e., spherical) radii of the two lens surfaces, essentially independent of the lens power. The preferred shape factor adjusts the third-order coma of the lens to largely offset the coma of the cornea, so that the image at the retina has a reduced amount of third-order coma. Once a preferred shape factor is determined, the base radii of curvature of the anterior and posterior surfaces are determined from the shape factor and the lens power by algebraic formulas. Finally, one or more aspheric terms are added to one or both of the surfaces in the lens, so that the spherical aberration of the lens largely offsets the spherical aberration of the cornea.

    摘要: The present invention discloses methods of obtaining ophthalmic lens capable of reducing the aberrations of the eye comprising the steps of characterizing at least one corneal surface as a mathematical model, calculating the resulting aberrations of said corneal surface(s) by employing said mathematical model, selecting the optical power of the intraocular lens. From this information, an ophthalmic lens is modeled so a wavefront arriving from an optical system comprising said lens and corneal model obtains reduced aberrations in the eye. Also disclosed are ophthalmic lenses as obtained by the methods which are capable reducing aberrations of the eye.

    摘要: An intraocular lens comprises optical part configured to be implanted in an eye of a subject. The intraocular lens further comprises at least one aspheric surface configured, in combination with a lens in the capsular bag of an eye, to reduce an aberration of a wavefront passing the eye. The aberrations may include astigmatism, coma, and/or spherical aberrations. An aberration of the intraocular lens may be expressed as a linear combination of Zernike polynomial terms that may include a Zernike coefficient a11. The Zernike coefficient a11 may be selected to reduce a spherical aberration of a wavefront passing the eye and/or to compensate for an average value resulting from a predetermined number of estimations of the Zernike coefficient a11 in a population of corneas and capsular bag lenses.
