    摘要: A manually directed, multi-channel electronic pipetting system is designed to transfer liquids from a standard multi-well plate, deep-well plate or reservoir into another multi-well plate. The preferred pipetting head includes an array of 96-tip fittings. A deck with at least one but preferably two or more wellplate nesting receptacles holds one or more multi-well plates or reagent reservoirs for access by an array of disposable pipette tips mounted to the pipetting head. The electronic motion control system includes a control handle that is mounted to a load cell, the carriage for the pipetting head and is held in the palm of the user. In use, the user grasps the control handle and operates the system in a manner similar to one using a handheld electronic pipettor.

The pipetting head include an array of tip fittings, e.g. 96. The system includes a check processor to avoid unintended motion in case of system faults or crashes. The system requires substantial force to attach the array of tips, and therefore includes controls that require both of the user's hands be occupied during the tip attachment process.

    摘要: The pipetting method is directed to mounting and ejecting a disposable pipette tip. The pipetting system has one or more tip mounting shafts with an upper locking section and a lower sealing section. The upper locking section has outwardly extending lobes spaced around the mounting shaft and located above a stop member. The lower sealing section on the tip mounting shaft is located below the stop. As the mounting shaft is inserted into the collar of the disposable pipette, the collar distorts out of round and engages the lobes on the upper locking section of the tip mounting shaft. Contemporaneously, the lower sealing section of the mounting shaft seals against the barrel of the disposable pipette tip.

    摘要: To increase the stereophonic potential of an ordinary stereo source, a device (20) eliminates the common signals from a stereo source. The device is installed in relation to four loudspeakers, two primary (38, 40) and two secondary (42, 44), and it includes a stereo input (34, 36) and an electric circuit that links the two secondary loudspeakers. The primary loudspeakers reproduce unaltered stereo signals and the secondary loudspeakers reproduce altered signals where (by hand: when) the circuit has eliminated the common signals from the two channels of the primary stereo source. Since all “mono” components of the sound [by hand: same amplitude, same frequency] have been eliminated from the secondary outputs, we obtain a “purely stereo” source. An additional channel (45) can be added in order to reproduce the common components of the stereo source.

    摘要: A hand-held pipette includes a piston driven by an actuator assembly contained within a housing having first and second mutually spaced non-adjustable stops. The actuator assembly is subdivided into first and second sections respectively provided with first and second contact surfaces. The actuator assembly is arranged to reciprocate between a rest position at which the first contact surface is in contact with the first stop and the second contact surface is spaced from the second stop by a control distance, and an advanced position at which the second contact surface is in contact with the second stop and the first contact surface is spaced from the first stop, with the stroke of the actuator assembly and the stroke of the piston being equal to the control distance. A motor-driven mechanism is arranged to displace one section of the actuator assembly relative to the other section, resulting in a corresponding change to both the overall length of the actuator assembly and the control distance.
