摘要: A flow-through electrochemical cell assembly with a disposable working electrode structure, including (a) a perimeter wall defining a sample flow channel including an inlet and an outlet, (b) a sample inlet line in fluid communication with the sample flow channel inlet, (c) a sample outlet line providing fluid communication between the sample flow channel outlet and a remote reference electrode, and (d) a disposable working electrode structure comprising an electrically conductive and electrochemically active working electrode region bound as a layer, directly or indirectly, to an electrically insulating substrate surface. The substrate surface is in fluid-sealing relationship with the sample flow channel, and the working electrode region is in fluid communication with said sample flow channel. The working electrode is vapor deposited, directly or indirectly, onto the organic polymer substrate through a mask, and a fluid seal is formed between said working electrode region and perimeter wall.

摘要: In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a pulsed electrochemical detection method comprising (a) flowing a liquid sample stream including at least one analyte past a working electrode in a flow-through cell; (b) applying at least three pulsed electrical potentials to the working electrode, (1) a first conditioning potential, (2) a second detection and oxidative cleaning potential, and (3) a third reductive cleaning potential, said second potential being higher than said first and third potentials and said first potential being higher than said third potential; and (c) detecting the output from said working electrode during the time period of applying said second potential.

摘要: A technique for separating, identifying and measuring ions in solution by capillary zone electrophoresis is described, which provides improved sensitivity and resolution of anionic and cationic species. The method involves introducing a sample containing the ionic species into a narrow core capillary filled with a carrier electrolyte containing a selected light-absorbing anion or cation to an electrical current in a capillary column causing the ions to elute according to their ionic mobility. Both UV absorbing and UV-transparent ions can be detected and quantitated by UV/Visible photometric monitoring.

摘要: A system and method to generate a concentration gradient eluent flow are described. The concentration gradient eluent flow can include at least two different generants. A liquid can be pumped to an eluent generating device. A first controlling signal can be applied to a first eluent generator to generate a first generant. A second controlling signal can be applied to a second eluent generator to generate a second generant. Either the first and/or the second controlling signal can be varied as a function of time to generate the concentration gradient eluent flow.
