摘要: The present invention is a method of applying Lotus Effect materials as a (superhydrophobicity) protective coating for external electrical insulation system applications, as well as the method of fabricating/preparing Lotus Effect coatings. Selected inorganic or polymeric materials are applied on the insulating material surface, and stable superhydrophobic coatings can be fabricated. Various UV stabilizers and UV absorbers can be incorporated into the coating system to enhance the coating's UV stability.

摘要: Methods of reducing pollution problems in power lines systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the method comprises applying Lotus Effect materials as a (superhydrophobicity) protective coating for external electrical insulation system applications. Further disclosed are methods of fabricating/preparing Lotus Effect coatings. Selected inorganic or polymeric materials are applied on the insulating material surface, and stable superhydrophobic coatings can be fabricated. Various UV stabilizers and UV absorbers can be incorporated into the coating system to enhance the coating's UV stability. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also discussed and claimed.

摘要: Described herein are solid solution composites that are used as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The solid solution composite of α LiMVO4-βLiNi1-x-yCoxMnyO2, in which LiMVO4 has cubic close-packed structure, LiNi1-x-yCoxMnyO2 has hexagonal layered structure, and both share an oxygen lattice fully or partly. The new solid solution materials have advantage for lithium-ion batteries that the working voltage of the composite is adjustable by controlling the molar ratio of α and β and have higher working voltage than current secondary battery materials.Also described herein are methods of preparing such composite.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for changing the development pattern, increasing the growth and starch accumulation, changing the structure of starch and increasing the resistance to water stress in plants. The method involves culturing plants in an atmosphere containing volatile elements emitted by a microorganism, without there being any physical contact between the microorganism and the plant. The method is based on the discovery that the volatile elements emitted by Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria, yeasts and microscopic fungi stimulate an increase in the growth of plants in general, with an increase in the height, the number of leaves and/or the number of branches of the plant, as well as an increase in the accumulated starch and structural change of this biopolymer, and modification of the development pattern, with an increase in floral buds. An increased resistance to water stress can also be observed, in addition to an increase in starch in leaves separated from whole plants.

摘要: Trick mode play for controlling video content playback can be realized using a semantic based criterion in order to achieve a more uniform playback experience for the viewer, when that viewer wishes to observe the video content presented according to a selected semantic. In one embodiment of the method, semantics associated with shorter time intervals in the video content are replayed in trick mode play proportionally slower than semantics associated with longer time intervals, wherein the proportionally is determined, at least in part, to the time interval associated with each semantic. In various embodiments, semantics can include scenes, audio, metadata, tags, and the like. The semantics based trick mode play approach allows for a more uniform viewing experience, on a time duration basis, from one semantic to the next.
