摘要： A cable-stayed suspension bridge having characteristics of a cable stayed bridge and those of a suspension bridge at the same and time and using one-box and two-box girders in combination is disclosed. The bridge grinder of the cable-stayed suspension bridge includes one-box girders that each extend to both sides through the respective one tower and a two-box girder set in a central portion of the center span between towers in the length direction of the bridge girder. The cable-stayed suspension bridge includes cable-stayed structures in which a respective one of the one-box girders is supported by the tower with plural cables and a suspension structure in which the two-box girder is supported by the plural towers with two main cables and plural hanger ropes. The two-box girder has a central ventilation opening in the central portion as viewed in a transverse direction thereof. The hanger ropes in the suspension structure extend from the main cables almost perpendicularly, and their lower end portions are connected to the end portions in the transverse direction of the central ventilation opening or in the vicinity thereof.

摘要： In view of the increase in the number of cases with nephropathy in aged animals of the cat family, the invention provides a marker for early diagnosis of feline nephropathy which can substitute for the conventional complicated methods of diagnosing nephropathy such as blood examination, kidney radiography using a contrast medium, and ultrasonic image analysis. It was found that cats with nephropathy show markedly lowered levels of excretion of a novel protein (named cauxin) with a molecular weight of 70 K, which is excreted into urine in high concentrations in normal adult cats showing no clinical abnormality. When the protein is used as a marker in diagnosing feline nephropathy, feline nephropathy can be detected in a simple and exact manner.

The mobile station is provided with an antenna for receiving one or more GPS signals from the corresponding GPS satellites, an amplifying and frequency converting circuit for amplifying the received signal and converting the amplified GPS signal into a signal on an IF band, an analog-to-digital converter for converting the signal on the IF band into a digital signal, and a writing unit for writing the digital signal into a memory card in order to transfer the digital signal to the base station.

摘要： A wound dressing is provided herein for systemic administration of a physiologically- or biologically-active agent by controlled release of the agent into such wound. The wound dressing includes a substrate in the form of a fabric or cloth, at least a portion of which is cellulosic, which has been chemically modified to convert hydroxyl groups in the cellulosic portion to ionic-adsorbing sites. An ionic form of a physiologically- or biologically-active agent, namely an antibacterial agent, an antifungal agent, an analgesic agent, a tissue healant agent, a local anesthetic agent, an antibleeding agent, an enzyme or a vasoconstrictor is adsorbed in that substrate. Ionic bonds hold that agent temporarily to the substrate for controlled release therefrom in proportion to the amount of exudate in contact with the substrate. The ionic bonds are formed by adsorbing that agent on that substrate at room temperature. The ionic bonds disassociate upon contact with body exudate from wounds to which the wound dressing is applied by ion exchange with ions in the body exudate, thereby to release that agent in an amount in proportion to the amount of the exudate in contact with the substrate.

A folding portable terminal (1) comprises a case (10) with a display section (11) and a case (20) with an operating section (21), and the cases are foldably linked through a hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism comprises a first hinge section (12) formed by providing a first rotation axis at substantially the center of the case (10) that can be rotated about the first rotation axis in the folding or opening direction relative to the case (20); a second hinge section (24) formed by providing a second rotation axis at substantially the upper end part of the case (20) so as to be parallel to the first rotation axis, the case (20) being rotated in the folding or opening direction relative to the case (10); and means (13a) for linking both ends of the first rotation axis and both ends of the second rotation axis. The hinge mechanism enables the display section (11) and the operating section (21) to be folded without being faced each other, and a user can operate the operating section (21) or view the display section (11) in the folded state.
