    摘要: Disclosed herein is a cap assembly mold mounted to a battery cell, in which an electrode assembly including cathodes/separators/anodes is disposed, wherein the cap assembly mold is manufactured by integrally forming a protection circuit board, a safety element, connection terminals, and a cap housing by insert injection molding, and, when the insert injection molding is carried out, the connection terminals are partially exposed from the lower end surface of the cap assembly mold such that the connection terminals can be electrically connected to electrode terminals of the battery cell. According to the present invention, the cap assembly mold is formed by insert injection molding in the state that the protection circuit and the battery are not connected with each other. Consequently, the molding process is carried out using normally available resins, the cap assembly mold is electrically stable, the coating process for preventing electrical short circuits is not necessary, and the possibility of electrical damage to the protection circuit is eliminated.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a no-welding type battery pack using one or more forced-inserting type rivets. A cap assembly includes a base plate mounted to an open upper end of a battery case, a protection circuit module (PCM) mounted on the base plate, and a top cap coupled to the upper end of the battery case while the top cap covers the PCM. The top cap is made of an insulative material. The electrical connection and the mechanical coupling between the PCM and the base plate are accomplished by one or more forced-inserting type rivets. The cap assembly is included the battery pack. The no-welding type battery pack using the one or more forced-inserting type rivets is manufactured without welding or soldering requiring an excessive amount of time and skilled technique during the electrical connection between the battery cell and the PCM. As a result, the assembly process of the battery pack is simplified, and therefore, the manufacturing time of the battery pack is reduced. Consequently, the manufacturing costs of the battery pack are decreased, the automation of the assembly process is accomplished, and the structural stability of the battery pack is improved.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a secondary battery pack including a battery cell, and a protection circuit module (PCM) assembly, configured in a specific structure, coupled to the top of the battery cell. The secondary battery pack includes a battery cell having an electrode assembly mounted in a battery case together with an electrolyte in a sealed state, a protection circuit module (PCM) assembly including a PCM and connection members, the PCM assembly being provided with a through-hole for connection, an insulative mounting member mounted at the top of the battery cell, an insulative cap coupled to an upper end of the battery cell. One of the connection members, i.e., the connection member (A), protrudes from one end of the PCM assembly such that a region of the connection member (A) electrically connected to the battery cell is exposed upward from the PCM assembly. The other connection member, i.e., the connection member (B), is coupled to the bottom of the PCM such that at least a portion of the connection member (B) is exposed upward from the PCM assembly through the through-hole for connection. The electrical connection between the connection members and the electrode terminals of the battery cell is achieved at the top of the PCM while the insulative mounting member and the PCM assembly are loaded on the battery cell.

    摘要: An electrical connection structure, and a secondary battery pack using the same are disclosed. The structure comprises an electrical connection member which includes an insulating body for insulating a PCM from a battery cell, and cathode and anode leads mounted on the insulating body in a state of being electrically insulated from each other. One or both of the cathode and anode leads are welded to associated electrode terminals of the battery cell. The cathode and anode leads are connected in a contact state to associated electrode taps of the PCM when engaging the PCM to the battery cell. The connection structure allows only the electrode leads to be welded to the battery cell, and allows the electrode terminals to be connected to the electrode taps through contact without an additional welding operation, thereby remarkably reducing the number of assembling steps, lowering manufacturing costs and preventing malfunction.
