摘要: An entity-based search system is described herein that detects and recognizes entities in Internet-based content and uses this recognition to organize search results. The system associates one or more entity identifiers with a web page and stores this information as metadata of the page in a search engine index. This metadata will enable entity-based queries as well as rich data presentations in a search engine result page (SERP), including grouping results by entities, filtering results by one or more particular entities, or re-ranking search results based on user preference of entities. Thus, the entity-based search system allows users to identify a particular entity the user is interested in finding, and to receive search results directly related to that entity.

摘要: A current measurement system includes a magnetic core having an inside area through which a conductor carrying current to be measured extends. A measurement winding is wound on the magnetic core. A voltage source couples to the measurement winding to generate current through the measurement winding. A gap of low permeability material is disposed in the magnetic core. A sensing device is positioned in the gap, wherein the sensing device generates a control signal having one of a first state and a second state based on a strength and a direction of a magnetic field in the gap.

摘要: A computer authentication device comprising a memory containing a long secret or digital signature, portions of which are requested by a server computer or other device. The authentication device evaluates the nature and timing of authentication requests and selectively varies the time delay for responding to such authentication requests. Such selective variation in response times impedes the unauthorized or malicious copying of the authentication device's authentication credentials.

摘要: A pulse width modulation apparatus and method operates a switch at one of four slew rates to minimize electromagnetic and harmonic interference or switching losses. One of the four slew rates is selected based on a detected over-current condition, with or without a start up operation condition, an over-temperature condition and a normal working mode.

摘要: A circuit and method for operating a MOSFET control circuit, having a maximum supply voltage limit, with a system operating voltage greater than the maximum supply voltage limit. The system operating voltage is referenced to a first ground. The MOSFET control circuit has a power supply input for receiving the system operating voltage and for generating a signal having a maximum voltage level and a minimum voltage level. A ground floating circuit includes a second ground, having a greater potential than the first ground, for establishing a voltage difference between the MOSFET control circuit power supply input and the second ground. The voltage difference being less than the maximum supply voltage limit. A first signal level shifting circuit shifts one of the maximum voltage level and the minimum voltage level of the signal from a first reference voltage to a second reference voltage. The method includes the steps of providing the MOSFET control circuit; establishing the voltage difference with the ground floating circuit including the second ground; and shifting one of the maximum voltage level and the minimum voltage level of the signal from a first reference voltage to a second reference voltage with a first signal level shifting circuit.

摘要: The invention relates to small RNAs encoded within the nucleus of mammalian cells that specifically import to the mitochondria. The RNAs bind to several nucleolar peptides and thus provide potential carriers for import of biological molecules, including metabolites and proteins, into the mitochondrial compartment. Mitochondrial dysfunction in several maternally inherited human diseases may be correctable employing linkage of mitochondrial import signal to mitochondrial tRNA sequences expressed from nuclear trans-genes without requirement for direct genetic transformation of mitochondria.
