The invention relates to coating compositions having anti-adhesion and dirt repellency properties, these compositions being admixed as additive with from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the solids content of the coating composition, of a branched polymer which possesses a weight-average molecular weight of from 2000 to 200,000 and comprises a polymeric base molecule and also polydiorganosiloxane side chains which are bonded covalently to the base molecule via Si—C bonds, have a weight-average molecular weight of between 1000 and 30,000, and whose fraction of the total weight of the branched polymer is from 5 to 25% by weight. The present invention further relates to polymeric moulding compounds having anti-adhesion and dirt repellency properties, to which this branched polymer is added as additive in an amount of from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymeric moulding compounds. The invention additionally relates to the use of the branched polymers as additives for coating compositions and polymeric moulding compounds.

The levelling agent is a branched polymer comprising a free-radically or ionically polymerized base molecule into which macromonomeric units containing at one end a monomeric unit which has an ethylenically unsaturated bond and possessing a weight-average molecular weight of from 1000 to 30,000 have been incorporated by free-radical or ionic copolymerization, the weight fraction of the macromonomeric units, based on the total weight of the branched polymer, being from 1 to 60% by weight. The invention further relates to the use of appropriate polymers as levelling agents for coating formulations and to coating formulations comprising the levelling agents of the invention.

The invention relates to a process for preparing a solution which comprises urea urethanes and is effective as a thixotropic agent, which involves reacting at least two structurally different monohydroxy compounds with an excess of toluene diisocyanate to form monoisocyanate adducts, removing the unreacted portion of the toluene diisocyanate, and reacting the resultant monoisocyanate adducts with diamines in an aprotic solvent in the presence of a lithium salt to form urea urethanes. The invention relates to addition compounds suitable for use as wetting agents and dispersants and obtainable by reacting monofunctional or polyfunctional aromatic epoxides with polyoxyalkylenemonoamines having a number-average molecular weight of >400 g/mol, one primary or secondary amino group and at least 4 ether oxygen atoms per molecule, from 90 to 100% of the epoxide groups of the starting material having undergone reaction, the weight fraction of aromatic groups in the addition compounds being not more than 50% and the addition compounds containing per molecule at least one amino group on which salts can be formed, or being present as a salt. The invention also relates to a process for preparing the addition compounds, to their use as wetting agents and/or dispersants and to pigments or fillers coated with the addition compounds and to pigment pastes which comprise pigments, binders and the addition compounds of the invention.
