    摘要: A control system for customizing a relationship between an operator input at an input controller and a corresponding response of a work machine is disclosed. The control system includes an input controller operable to receive an operator input and generate a corresponding control signal. The control system also includes a hand-held programmable device having parameters stored therein. The parameters are adjustable to control responsiveness of a component of the work machine over a range of inputs at the input controller. The hand-held programmable device is operable to adjust the parameters in response to an input from an operator. A control module is disposed on the work machine and is operable to receive signals from the hand-held programmable device. The signals are representative of a desired relationship between an operator input to the input controller and a corresponding response of the work machine. The control module is also operable to receive the control signal from the input controller and process the control signal based on the signals from the hand-held programmable device.

    摘要: A method is provided for enhancing the repositioning of an excavating machine, including an excavating assemblage, from one set-up position to a next, subsequent set-up position. A joystick is controlled in implement control mode to operate at least one of a boom, a stick, and a bucket of the excavating assemblage during a first excavating phase from a first machine set-up position. The first excavating phase is terminated and, during a machine repositioning phase, the machine is moved to a second machine set-up position for a second excavating phase at the second machine set-up position. After terminating the first excavating phase and before moving the: machine to the second machine set-up position, an input/display device is accessed and activated to convert the joystick from implement control mode to machine control mode. At least machine steering and machine propulsion are controlled with the joystick set in the machine control mode during the machine repositioning phase. Before beginning the second excavating phase, an input/display device is accessed and activated to convert the joystick from machine control mode to implement control mode. The joystick is controlled in implement control mode to operate the excavating assemblage during the second excavating phase from the second machine set-up position.

    摘要: A track laying work vehicle has an undercarriage assembly including a rigid support beam and first and second roller frame assemblies, one on either side of the vehicle. Each roller frame assembly has first and second end portions and supports a rotatable idler wheel assembly at the first end portion and a powered drive wheel at the second end portion. Each drive wheel is frictionally engaged with a drive axle of the vehicle and can be engaged with the drive axle at a plurality of lateral positions on the axle. The first end portion of each roller frame assembly is releasably connected to one end of the support beam and is laterally moveable on the support beam. An endless track, such as an elastomeric belt, encircles a respective drive wheel, roller frame assembly, and idler wheel assembly on each side of the vehicle. By moving the track roller frame assembly and drive wheel laterally along the drive axle and support beam respectively, various gage settings of the endless track are provided.
