Herein provided are a polypropylene resin composition which comprises (A) a polypropylene, (B) an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymeric rubber having a Mooney viscosity, ML.sub.1+4 (100.degree. C.), ranging from 5 to 50 and an iodine value of not less than 15, the content of the component (B) ranging from 10 to 50% by weight on the basis of the total weight of the components (A) and (B), and optionally (C) an inorganic filler in an amount ranging from 0 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the sum of the components (A) and (B); a coating method which comprises the steps of applying a primer coating to a molded product obtained by molding the foregoing polypropylene resin composition or irradiating the molded product with plasma without degreasing and washing the product with a halogen atom-containing organic solvent and then applying a top coat to the product; and a coating method which comprises the steps of degreasing and washing a molded product obtained by molding the foregoing polypropylene resin composition and then applying a top coat to the product without applying a primer coating to the molded product or irradiating the molded product with plasma. The coated film obtained according to the foregoing methods has good bond strength to the molded product.

A polypropylene resin composition which comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of polypropylene, (B) 20-50 parts by weight of at least one elastomer selected from an ethylenic elastomer, an hydrogenated styrene-butadiene copolymer and a hydrogenated styrene-isoprene block copolymer, (C) 0.3.about.20 parts by weight of polycarbonatediol having a skeleton of aliphatic carbonate with both terminals being a hydroxyl group and (D) 0.about.50 parts by weight of an inorganic filler. The resin composition can provide a molded article having a good adhesive property to a film applied thereon without pretreatment by a halogen-containing solvent.

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition useful as an adhesive comprising a modified polypropylene resin graft-modified with from about 0.01 wt. % to about 2 wt. % of a radical-polymerizable unsaturated compound and a crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer containing from about 10 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of a propylene/ethylene random copolymer having an ethylene content of from about 20 wt. % to about 90 wt. %. The resin composition is particularly suitable for bonding a polypropylene resin layer and an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer layer, and a polypropylene resin layer and a polyamide resin layer.

An exhaust gas recirculation valve comprises a housing which constructs a part of an exhaust gas path for receiving exhaust gas from an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, the housing accommodating a valve mechanism for controlling the amount of flow of the exhaust gas passing therethrough, a fixed cylinder disposed in the housing, a movable cylinder assembly composed of at least one movable cylinder disposed in the fixed cylinder, a piston movably disposed in the movable cylinder assembly for controlling an opening of the valve mechanism, and a pressure applying mechanism for respectively applying pressure to the movable cylinder and the piston so as to move them through respective predetermined strokes. The exhaust gas recirculation valve can control its opening to one of a plurality of opening levels by moving the movable cylinder and piston through the respective predetermined strokes by means of the application of the pressure of air by the pressure applying mechanism, so as to provide a needed opening with reliability. Furthermore, by shortening the predetermined strokes of the movable components, there is provided the exhaust gas recirculation valve insensitive to a change in the pressure of air supplied by the pressure applying mechanism.
