摘要： The present invention provides an image forming apparatus including first image density signal converter having a first conversion property for converting a multi-valued image density input signal to an image density output signal at a timing synchronizing with an image density signal clock, second image density signal converter having a second conversion property different from the first conversion property for converting a part of the image density input signal corresponding to a low density portion to an image density output signal indicating a value within a range in which an image is not developed, selection signal generator for outputting a selection signal having a period longer than that of the image density signal clock to select the first or second image density signal converter in a predetermined order, a phase of the selection signal being shifted in turn per every one or more main scanning synchronizing signals, pattern signal generator means for generating a pattern signal having a period longer than that of the image density signal clock, controller for shifting the phase of the pattern signal generated by the pattern signal generator means per every one or more main scanning synchronizing signals to form a screen image having a predetermined screen angle, a pulse width modulator for outputting a pulse width modulation signal generated by modulating pulse width of the image density output signal output from the first and second image density signal converter utilizing the pattern signal. An image is formed in accordance with the pulse width modulation signal output from the pulse width modulator.

摘要： An image forming apparatus heats and presses a toner image retaining medium, with a toner image being formed thereon, and a sheet of print paper in face-contact with each other so that the toner image is transferred and simultaneously fixed onto the print paper, and rectifies the curling of the face-contact medium and paper during the heat-pressing process, thereby attaining a high print quality without creases on the paper which would otherwise emerge due to the heat-pressing process.

摘要： The gas laser oscillator of the invention comprises a discharge tube, a pair of electrodes disposed at both ends thereof, a direct-current high voltage power source for applying a direct-current high voltage in pulse form to the pair of electrodes, an output control device for controlling the direct-current high voltage power source, a fully reflective mirror provided at one end of the outside of the pair of electrodes, a partially reflective mirror disposed at other end of the outside of the pair of electrodes, and an absorber disposed outside of the partially reflective mirror. In thus constituted gag laser oscillator, the output control device controls to apply a same direct-current voltage as during processing between the pair of electrodes also on standby while the absorber is closed. The gas laser oscillator of the invention further comprises a beam splitter outside of the absorber, a switch to be actuated while the beam splitter is installed at a specified position, a focusing lens disposed on the optical axis of the laser beam reflected and separated by the beam splitter, a shielding plate disposed so as to open or close the passage of laser beam, a switch to be actuated while the shielding plate is open, a detector for detecting the laser beam, an amplifier for amplifying the output of the detector, and a medium passage disposed in contact with the detector for realizing heat exchange between the temperature-controlled medium and the detector, whereby it is controlled to issue the laser beam only while the beam splitter is installed at a specified position. The output of the laser beam is controlled so that the detector input may not exceed the maximum allowable input of the detector while the shielding plate is open. Moreover, the beam splitter, focusing lens, and detector are arranged so that the optical axis may be horizontal to the laser beam passing therethrough.
