    摘要: Novel cold rolling oils for steels comprise (A) 40 to 90 wt % of a monoester of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having 12 to 22 carbon atoms and an aliphatic alcohol having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, (B) 0.5 to 10 wt % of at least one of a dimer acid and a polymerized acid of a higher aliphatic unsaturated acid having 16 to 20 carbon atoms, (C) 2 to 40 wt % of a polyester having a molecular weight of 750 to 7500 and obtained by subjecting at least one of a dimer acid and a polymerized acid of a higher aliphatic unsaturated acid having 16 to 20 carbon atoms to condensation with a polyol under heating conditions and reacting remaining carboxyl groups of hydroxyl groups of the resulting polyester with an alcohol having 1 to 22 carbon atoms or an aliphatic acid having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, or 10 to 25 wt % of fat and fatty oils, and (D) 0.1 to 10 wt % of a polymer compound having nitrogen atoms in a molecule having a molecular weight of 1,000 to 1,000,000 such as a homopolymer or copolymer of monomers of the following general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 represents H or CH.sub.3, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently represent H or an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms.The cold rolling oils for steels have good lubricity, surface cleanability with excellent heat resistance and oxidative stability.

    摘要: An ultrasonic flaw detection is performed to a welded portion 2 of a pipe body 1, a defect detection threshold value is determined based on the signal intensity difference between the total area of the defects existing in the region of an ultrasonic beam on a welded surface and an artificial defect, and a quality control of the pipe body is performed based on the defect detection threshold value. An equivalent defect diameter is determined from the defect density on the welded surface of the welded portion of the pipe body in a pipe axis direction and the area of the ultrasonic beam on the welded surface based on the total area of the defects existing in the region of the ultrasonic beam, and the defect detection threshold value is determined based on the equivalent defect diameter and the signal intensity difference of the artificial defect.

    摘要: The present invention has a structure capable of detecting the scattered-type penetrator having oxides each with the size of several μm sparsely and widely dispersed. Specifically, the structure includes a wave transmission unit 6 for transmitting an ultrasonic wave to the welded surface of the welded portion 2 in a pipe axial direction of the pipe 1 such that the beam width of a transmission beam 8 is brought into a range from 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm, and a wave reception unit 7 for receiving at least a portion of the reflection wave (reception beam 9) at the welded surface. The wave transmission unit 6 and the wave reception unit 7 include transmission/reception units formed of different groups of transducer elements on at least one or more array probes 5 arranged in the circumferential direction of the pipe.

    摘要: A method of producing a stainless steel produces steel sheets having excellent surface brightness. The method includes performing a cold rolling operation using a work roll having a Young's modulus between 25,000 to 70,000 kg/mm.sup.2 in one or more stands of a tandem mill having a plurality of stands. Preferably the work roll is composed of a tungsten carbide based hard metal alloy. The diameter of a work roll at a final stand of the tandem mill is equal to or smaller than a diameter of a work roll in the previous stand. It is preferable that the work roll is dimensioned to have a diameter between 150 mm to 400 mm. In addition, it is preferable that a cold rolling operation is achieved at a reduction between 25% to 60% reduction in the final stand of the tandem mill.
