    摘要： A twin roll caster including a pair of chilled rolls on which molten steel solidifies for delivery of a steel strip from a nip between the rolls, a noncontact type sensor for measuring thickness distribution of the strip widthwise of the strip, a marking mechanism that makes a mark on the strip whenever the chilled rolls make one rotation, a mark detector that senses the marks on the strip, and a nip estimating mechanism. From thickness-distribution information by the sensor and passed-mark information by the mark detector, the nip estimating mechanism calculates variation of the nip between the rolls whenever the rolls make one rotation, based on variation in thickness distribution widthwise of the strip between confirmed passing of the mark and confirmed passing of the next mark, and stores the same as data.

    摘要： A protection system protects paths of internetwork communication between WDM ring networks, and includes a plurality of optical wavelength multiplexing networks having a plurality of nodes and a network management system for monitoring conditions of the plurality of nodes. The nodes include a first node having add/drop functions of adding/dropping wavelength-multiplexed optical signals; a second node having a signal transfer function as well as the add/drop functions; and a third node having an internetwork connection function between the networks. Each first, second and third nodes further includes optical path cross-connect switches and a table for indicating conditions of the optical path cross-connect switches and a detected node fault condition. The network management system controls to set the optical path cross-connect switches in the first, second and third nodes so that the optimal optical path connection may be obtained according to the detected node fault condition indicated in the node tables.

In molding in a magnetic field, the mortar-shaped die 19 provided with a plurality of the cavities 13 is heated by the heater member 20, provided in the heater block located under the mortar-shape die 19, under control of a controller at varying temperature depending on the position of the mortar-shape die 19, to keep uniform temperature of the slurry in the cavities 13. This assures good and stable slurry dehydration properties and improves product yield.

    摘要： Disclosed is a private branch exchange (PBX) that offers high efficiency in wiring cables, at the same time, protects cables in highly safety manner. The PBX includes a PBX section and a casing that covers and holds the PBX section. The casing contains an inner-bottom plate, a support column, and a pedestal. Cables for connections with external circuitry can be connected to the PBX section on the front side of the interior of the casing. The inner-bottom plate holds the bottom of the portion of the casing on which the PBX section is accommodated. The support column is disposed on the lower surface of the inner-bottom plate. Disposed beneath the support column, the pedestal holds the entire of the casing. The support column has a curved surface on the front side, protecting cables wired between the inner-bottom plate and the pedestal.

    摘要： Infrared rays radiated from a moving object is converged into a plurality of infrared ray detectors by optical system. Detecting area is instituted by the optical system so as to put the infrared rays into a plurality of the infrared ray detectors with time difference therebetween. Signal processing unit produces a detecting signal when there is a predetermined time difference between signals produced by a plurality of the infrared ray detectors. It is possible to avoid wrong operation which is caused by popcorn noise and a differential noise having a bit of time difference caused by temperature gradient in space. Forming a curved imaginary boundary line, a plurality of detecting zones are disposed at out side and inside of the curved imaginary boundary line to detect the object invading from any direction.

    摘要： Various kinds of control circuits and gate circuits are integrated on a one-chip semiconductor device to make up a bit-slice type large scale integrated circuit (LSI) with multiple functions. The gate circuits are connected with the control circuits for selecting input and output signal lines. Selecting signals are supplied to the gate circuits through the selecting lines. The gate circuits select the connection between the control circuits and the input and output lines in response to the selecting signals. The one-chip semiconductor device is particularly efficient in that it provides multiple functions without increasing the number of required terminals pins thereof.
