    摘要: A magnetic recording and/or reproducing element comprises a main element body, and windings wound around the main element body. The main element body has a pair of extremely thin layers made from a ferromagnetic material, and the extremely thin layers oppose each other at respective edges thereof so as to constitute a gap. Each of the thin layers are sandwiched between a pair of support members which are made from a non-magnetic and abrasion proof material. A contact surface is formed on a vertex part of the main element body, for making contact with a magnetic recording medium so as to record and/or reproduce a signal on and/or from the magnetic recording medium. The main element body has one or a plurality of side surfaces which form a predetermined angle with respect to the contact surface and define the peripheral edge of the contact surface so that the contact surface has a predetermined shape with an extremely small area and has the gap at an approximate center of the predetermined shape.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus capable of performing a fast forward reproduction, a fast backward reproduction, a still picture reproduction and the time-lapse recording. The magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus according to the present invention realizes a preferred reproduced image containing no noise-bar, by correcting deviation of magnetic heads mounted on an upper drum from intended tracks depending on a difference in tape running speed between a recording operation and a reproducing operation by tilting the upper drum about a predetermined pivot point with respect to a lower drum having a lead formed thereon. Further, the magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus according to the present invention realizes a preferred reproduced image containing no noise-bar even for a signal recorded in a narrow track pattern in an extended time recording mode, by correcting a slight separation of the magnetic tape from the lead due to a tilt of the upper drum, by tilting the lower drum.

    摘要: A reproducing stylus traces a track of a recording medium, in which track an information signal is recorded as variations of geometrical shape, and reproduces as variations in capacitance the information signal thus recorded. The reproducing stylus comprises a reproducing stylus main structure having a tip portion with a sliding contact face for slidingly contacting at least one track of the recording medium, and an electrode disposed on the reproducing stylus main structure to trace one track and reproduce the information signal as the variations in capacitance in accordance with the variations in geometrical shape. The electrode has an end edge and side edges. The side edges are substantially parallel at least in the vicinity of the tip portion of the reproducing stylus main structure. The sliding contact face has a leading part and a trailing part respectively at the foremost end and the rearmost end in a relative sliding direction of the sliding contact face on the recording medium. The end edge of the electrode is at said trailing part, the length l of the sliding contact face in the relative sliding direction being larger than the width d of the end edge of the electrode in a direction perpendicular to the relative sliding direction.

The electrode has over a specific distance over the tip part of the stylus main structure from the extreme tip thereof, a constant width in the width direction of the track which is less than the width of the track. The extreme tip of the electrode has a flat or linear tip end contacting the track.

    摘要: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus with a positioning mechanism for a tape guide drum is provided. The positioning mechanism includes first and second actuators which changes the position of the tape guide drum relative to a direction of travel of a magnetic tape during reproduction for orienting rotary magnetic heads to follow tracks formed on the magnetic tape perfectly if the tracks are curved undesirably. The first actuator is designed to turn the tape guide drum to orient a portion of a rotation plane of the rotary magnetic heads at a tape-entering position where the magnetic tape enters the tape guide drum in a first direction and a portion of the rotation plane at a tape-leaving position where the magnetic tape leaves the tape guide drum in a second direction opposite the first direction. The second actuator is designed to turn the rotation plane of the rotary magnetic head at the tape-entering position and the tape-leaving position in the same direction.
