摘要： A method and apparatus are provided to prompt a user of a portable electronic device in such a way to allow the user to enter information later. In response to receiving a user input that indicates a request to enter information at a later time, and upon occurrence of a trigger at the later time, the portable electronic device presents a prompt configured to facilitate entry of the information. In one embodiment the user input is specific to a type of trigger or to a type of prompt needed at the later time. Furthermore, the portable electronic device may prepare a contextual cue in response to receiving the user input, and present a portion of the contextual cue at the later time to facilitate remembrance of the information that the user wished to enter.

摘要： A generic IM device/server protocol permits a single implementation of a IM application on client devices for communicating with different enterprise IM servers types. The protocol defines a server maintained tag to identify the currency of a contact list it is managing for a client device. The client device receives and persists the tag and provides it at login. The server automatically sends a contact list update only if the tag indicates the client devices contact list instance is not current. Presence updates may also be sent automatically at login and the client device need not separately request contact list or presence updates at login. The client device may be pre-provisioned with respective graphics, text and server capabilities for multiple server types. A specific IM configuration may be selected in response to service information.

摘要： Displaying a map on a wireless communications device includes steps of obtaining map data for rendering the map to be displayed on the wireless communications device, determining a rotation that, when applied to the map, will orient a selected path in a selected direction, such as a current direction of travel, generating a corrected rotation by applying a spherical correction factor, e.g. based on a current location, and rendering the map on a display of the wireless communications device by applying the corrected rotation. The spherical correction factor corrects for map distortions that occur at high latitudes for paths that are neither purely north-south or east-west. When such a path is rotated to face upward to show direction of travel, the path needs to be straightened by applying the spherical correction factor.
