摘要: The foam and fiber composite can provide an absorbent article with improved dryness and an improved liquid distribution capability. The foam and fiber composite can be formed from at least two materials. The first material is an open cell foam material and the second material is a fibrous material. A plurality of the fibers forming the fibrous material can be fluid inserted into the open cell foam material thereby forming the foam and fiber composite. In various embodiments, the foam and fiber composite can be incorporated into an absorbent article as a component of an absorbent system located between a topsheet layer and a backsheet layer of the absorbent article.

摘要: An absorbent article having a fluid-handling system includes a fluid permeable bodyside liner; a fluid impermeable outer cover; an absorbent core disposed between the liner and the outer cover, wherein the absorbent core includes superabsorbent material and optionally fluff pulp; and a core wrap at least partially encircling the absorbent core, wherein the core wrap includes a three-dimensionally patterned, wetlaid, cellulosic tissue nonwoven material. Fibers of the nonwoven material are entirely cellulose fibers, and the core wrap includes opposing core wrap surfaces each having a textured surface. Each surface includes an average material plane, a plurality of ridges extending in a z-direction from the average material plane, and a plurality of grooves alternating with the plurality of ridges, wherein the grooves depth extend in the opposite z-direction from the average material plane.

摘要: An absorbent article having a liquid-handling system includes a liquid permeable bodyside liner; a liquid impermeable outer cover; and an absorbent core disposed between the liner and the outer cover, wherein the absorbent core has a longitudinal direction, wherein the absorbent core includes a layer of a three-dimensionally patterned, wetlaid, cellulosic tissue nonwoven material, and wherein the layer includes longitudinal ridges and grooves. The absorbent core can include multiple layers of a three-dimensionally patterned, wetlaid, cellulosic tissue nonwoven material, wherein each layer of the multiple layers includes longitudinal ridges and grooves, and wherein the multiple layers are joined by lines of embossing, such lines of embossing extending in the longitudinal direction. Each layer of the multiple layers can include embossed longitudinal ridges and grooves.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to tissue products comprising crosslinked fibers. The tissue products generally have good formation, such as a Formation Index greater than about 20, strength, such as geometric mean tensile strengths greater than about 700 g/3″ and high bulk, such as sheet bulks greater than about 10 cc/g. Unlike many prior art crosslinked fibers, the crosslinked softwood pulps of the present invention, which are preferably prepared using a glyoxal based crosslinking reagent, are readily dispersible in water and have relatively low degrees of kink and curl. As such, the fibers are well suited for forming wet-laid tissue products and more particularly wet-laid tissue products having improved physical properties, such as improved bulk.
