    摘要: A programmable integrated input/output connector module has a molded plastic base through which five bus wires extend. The molded base is equipped with channeled grooves into which five spring clips are housed and which make contact with a corresponding bus wire at the bottom of the molded base. One of the bus wires is a grounded bus wire to which a programmable packet is connected. A chip carrier having conductive traces is placed atop the spring clips so as to place the clips in compression while placing each conductive trace of the chip carrier in electrical contact with a corresponding one of the bus wires. An IC chip is fitted atop and electrically connected to the chip carrier. The programmable packet has six fingers which can be bent away from or left in contact with the chip carrier to selectively program the IC chip to a desired address and configuration. The programmable packet permits each chip carrier to be identical. Further, the spring clips are placed in compression by the chip carrier so that the spring clips urge the chip carrier out of the base upon disassembly of the module.

    摘要: A display for use in conjunction with a copier. The disclosed display comprises two microprocessors for controllably displaying information on a display panel of a xerographic copier. A first microprocessor is primarily responsible for energizing alphanumeric elements to either send messages to the copier user or to prompt the user to interact with the copier. A second display is a liquid crystal display wherein selectively energizable liquid crystal elements corresponding to copier components can be rendered visible under the control of the second microprocessor. An overlay pattern can be placed above the liquid crystal display to present to the user in outline form the copier architecture with which he is interacting. This overlay can be changed as the copier configuration is changed. The electronics for controlling the display of alphanumeric allows the utilization of different fonts and/or different languages. This flexibility allows the copier to prompt, and/or display information regarding copier status in various languages without a redesign of the display unit.

    摘要: A stack height control assembly that is remote from the feedhead. A floating coupler and sensor flag arrangement is mounted so that it is engaged with a paper supply drawer as the drawer is moved into an operative position. The feedhead acts as the stack height sensor and through a mechanical engagement with the sensor, which is removed and remote from the supply drawer, signals as the stack is depleted and the elevator mechanism should raise the stack. This control scheme removes complex electrical connectors from the drawer assembly and allows a wide range of substrates to be fed from the paper supply drawer. By allowing the sensor/coupler arrangement to float so as to align with the drawer, the need for extremely tight manufacturing and assembly tolerances with respect to the drawer/sensor arrangement is also obviated.

    摘要: A panel mount system includes a pair of hermaphroditic electrical connectors mounted in apertures in a respective pair of panels. Each connector includes a mounting flange for interfacing with the panel and a pair of cantilevered latch structures. Each latch structure includes a base arm projecting from the mounting flange and a pair of locking arms deflectably cantilevered from an end of the base arm. The maximum cross-sectional dimension defined by each pair of locking arms is greater than respective adjacent portions of the respective mounting aperture whereby the locking arms of each latch structure are deflectable to pass through the respective mounting aperture and then to an undeflected condition to mount the connector to the panel. The maximum cross-sectional dimension defined by the base arm is less than the respective adjacent portion of the mounting aperture to permit floating of the connector relative to the panel. The dimension of one of the latch structures and its adjacent portion of the mounting aperture is different from the dimension of the other latch structure and its adjacent portion of the mounting aperture to provide polarization for the connector relative to the panel. The locking arms are provided with beam-like bosses on the insides thereof to perform the dual function of providing stability for the locking arms as well as anti-overstress portions for the locking arms.

    摘要: A system is provided for mounting an electrical connector to one side of a panel or other planar substrate. The connector includes a housing having a mounting face with a mounting boss projecting therefrom. The boss includes an enlarged head portion. The panel includes an aperture shaped for receiving the enlarged head portion therethrough such that the boss is rotatable in the aperture from a first insertion position and a second mounted position of the housing whereat the enlarged head portion overlaps the opposite side of the panel. Resilient detent latches on the housing snap into detent recesses in the panel automatically when the housing is in its second mounted position to lock the housing thereat.
