摘要: The present invention is so arranged as to include (a) gradation reference potential generating means including a group of output terminals whose voltages are determined in accordance with a voltage division ratio of one ladder resistor, so as to output gradation reference potentials, for example, of 1024, which is a 16 multiple of a required 64-gradations; (b) output terminal designating means including a memory for designating, among from the output terminals, an output terminal for each of the 64-gradations required, in accordance with the display modes; and (c) selecting means for selecting an output terminal that corresponds to an input gradation signal, among from the output terminals designated by the output terminal designating section, and for applying a voltage via the thus selected output terminal to a display screen. With this arrangement, it is possible to attain very similar gradient signal-brightness characteristics for respective display modes with high accuracy, in order to prevent a gradient display from being changed due to switchover of the display modes.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide (i) a display device which, during a display of a moving image and a still image, reduces electric power consumption without causing a deterioration in display quality, and (ii) a method for displaying the display device. In an intermittent drive mode in which driving and a pause of the driving are repeated, an image identification section (6) identifies an input image (image data (DA)) as a still image or a moving image. In a case where the input image is identified as the moving image, a drive/pause control section (7) generates a drive/pause control signal (DSC) in accordance with a period ratio which is in accordance with the moving image. A timing control section (8) generates a driver control signal so that intermittent driving is carried out. Then, a source driver (3) and a gate driver (4) drives a display section (2) so that the drive period and the pause period are repeated in accordance with a predetermined period ratio, so that the input image (DA) is displayed. The drive/pause control section (7) sets a time ratio between the drive period and the pause period so that the time ratio is variable for each of the moving image and the still image.

摘要: Provided is a display system (1) capable of further reducing electric power consumption. The display system (1) includes: a host device (2) including transceivers (Tx1, Tx2); a display device (3) including receivers (Rx1, Rx2); a plurality of interfaces (IF1, IF2) for transmitting image data from the transceivers (Tx1, Tx2) to the receivers (Rx1, Rx2); changing means for changing the number of transmission lanes to be used by each of the plurality of interfaces (IF1, IF2); and a display panel (5) provided in the display device (3). Each of the interfaces (IF1, IF2) transmits the image data at an identical transmission rate irrespective of the number of the transmission lanes to be used. The display panel (5) displays an image indicated by the image data, at a frame rate corresponding to the total number of the transmission lanes to be used by the each of the interfaces (IF1, IF2).
