摘要: A seal 10 comprises a bushing 11 and a thread 12, wherein the bushing 11 has a first lumen 15 and a second lumen 16. The lumina 15 and 16 extend along the entire length of the bushing 11. The thread 12 can be introduced at one end into the second lumen 16 and has a swelling 21 at the free end which prevents reintroduction and travel of the end of the thread through the second lumen 16. The thread 12 can be introduced into the first lumen 15 via its other free end and pushed through first lumen 15. Enlargements 20 are formed on the thread 12 having a size preventing introduction into the first lumen 15 without the exercise of force. The bushing 11 and the thread 12 are manufactured from a flexible material having a stable shape. When the enlargements 20 are pulled into the first lumen 15, the bushing 11 bends and seats on e.g. tissue to be ligated. When the enlargements 20 are completely pulled into the first lumen 15, the seal 10 is permanently closed. Subsequent thereto the thread 12 is cut-off outside of the seal 10. The seal 10 can be applied using conventional knot-displacers.

摘要: A process for the manufacture of a surface element in the form of a lamellar mat or sheet which can be used for the absorption of electromagnetic waves, in particularly radar waves. The surface element has a plurality of bands of mineral wool separated by bands of an electrically-conducting material and is manufactured on an industrial scale by stacking several mineral wool strips, sheets, or mats with intermediate layers of the electrically-conducting strips, sheets or mats into a pile. From this pile are then cut out pads composed of different bands which are laid out in such way that their cut faces become the large surface areas of the surface element. Then, each of the surface elements is clad on at least one face with a backing strip, for example of meshed aluminum foil, the main orientation of the fibers of the mineral wool being perpendicular to the backing strip.

摘要: A liquid-liquid two-phase extraction process in which a feed solution is introduced into an intermediate stage of a multistage extraction apparatus. The solution is water and one or more valuable material to be recovered by extraction. An organic extractant is introduced into one end of the apparatus. The extractant is a solvent and flows through the apparatus. The valuable material is extracted from the feed solution to provide a charged organic phase. An aqueous extractant having water is introduced into another end of the apparatus to wash the charged organic phase. The aqueous extractant flows through the multistate extraction apparatus countercurrent to the extractant and contributes to the aqueous phase. The organic extractant is divided into at least two streams prior to introducing the organic extractant into the apparatus. Each stream is introduced into the apparatus at different stages, both ahead of the intermediate stage.

摘要: A power steering system is disclosed herein that includes an electronic control unit that determines a set-point value for a damping moment in the power steering system. The system also includes a first sensor connected to the control unit and operable to determine a sign of a steering angle. The sign of the steering angle refers to a clockwise angle from dead center being designated as positive or negative and a counter-clockwise angle from dead center being assigned the other designation. The system also includes a second sensor connected to the control unit and operable to determine the sign of a steering wheel angular velocity. The sign of the steering wheel angular velocity refers to movement of the steering wheel in the clockwise direction being designated as positive or negative and movement in the counter-clockwise direction being assigned the other designation. The control unit can establish the set-point value for the damping moment with a predefined first damping multiplier when the steering angle and the steering wheel angular velocity have the same sign and with a predefined second damping multiplier when the steering angle and the steering wheel angular velocity have different signs.
