摘要： A color image processing apparatus that prevents counterfeiting by detecting specific originals with high precision. Although general banknotes have graphic patterns drawn on uniform density portions, the tonality percepted by human eye is the mixture of the tonality of a graphic portion and the tonality of a uniform density portion. In consideration of the mixed tonality sensed by human eye, the apparatus smoothes a read image signal to generate mixed tonality for judgment, thus improves judgment precision. The total judgment of existence/absence of specific original is made by performing m judgments on m (m>n) judging conditions using the tonality data of pre-registered n (n: positive integer) specific originals.

摘要： An image processing device and an image processing method provided herein are capable of achieving data compression with reduced image degradation even if the data is image data entered from an input device such as a scanner. The entered original image data is divided into 2×2 pixel blocks. Two-color-form compression processing and four-color holding compression processing are performed on a block-by-block basis. The compression result data which leads to a smaller one of the differences in gradation value between the original image data and the two-color-form compression difference data and between the original image data and the four-color compression difference data is output as the compression processing result of the block.

To accomplish this, upon receiving an HDD access request in the power saving mode, the information processing apparatus operates after transiting to an HDD access mode in which only minimum necessary functions are activated without activating the main CPU. The contents of the HDD changed during the HDD access mode are stored as history information. Upon transiting from the power saving mode to the normal operating mode, the data in another HDD is updated in accordance with the history information, thereby implementing a mirroring function.
