摘要: A color image processing apparatus that prevents counterfeiting by detecting specific originals with high precision. Although general banknotes have graphic patterns drawn on uniform density portions, the tonality percepted by human eye is the mixture of the tonality of a graphic portion and the tonality of a uniform density portion. In consideration of the mixed tonality sensed by human eye, the apparatus smoothes a read image signal to generate mixed tonality for judgment, thus improves judgment precision. The total judgment of existence/absence of specific original is made by performing m judgments on m (m>n) judging conditions using the tonality data of pre-registered n (n: positive integer) specific originals.

摘要: The color tone distributions of a plurality of types of specific originals are stored in advance in a ROM, and a first similarity between the color tone distributions corresponding to a predetermined discrimination criterion, and an input image signal is discriminated. A second similarity between the color tone distributions corresponding to a discrimination criterion which is changed based on the first similarity, and the input image signal is discriminated. Whether or not an original is similar to one of the plurality of types of specific originals is discriminated on the basis of the first and second similarities.

摘要: A control apparatus for a vehicle that is capable of enhancing fuel efficiency of an internal-combustion engine. The vehicle is provided with at least one electronically controllable vehicle-mounted accessory that can be driven by the engine, and energy storage means for storing energy generated by the at least one vehicle-mounted accessory being driven by the engine. The apparatus includes regenerative control means for performing regenerative control during deceleration of the vehicle according to a deceleration instruction from a driver, and drive-control means for performing drive-control of the at least one vehicle-mounted accessory during a vehicle running period other than a regenerative control period so that the energy storage means has a margin in energy storage capacity for storing energy to be generated by the at least one vehicle-mounted accessory being driven by the engine during the regenerative control.

摘要: An information processing apparatus includes a processing unit, a power supply control unit configured to control powering on and off of the processing unit, and a controller unit configured to access the processing unit irrespective of a power supply state of the processing unit. The power supply control unit powers off a processing unit that is not in use, powers on a processing unit that is accessed by the controller unit, and outputs a predetermined control signal to the controller unit. The controller unit recognizes that an error occurs in a case where, after accessing a processing unit, the controller unit does not receive a response from the accessed processing unit until a time-out time elapses, and delays recognizing the error when the control signal is received.

摘要: A support structure of the present invention includes a fixation member directly or indirectly heated, a supported object supported by the fixation member, and a sliding member provided on an outer periphery of the fixation member, the sliding member being slidable in a longitudinal direction of the fixation member. In the support structure, one fixation part of the supported object is fixed to the fixation member and another fixation part of the supported object is fixed to the sliding member. By this structure, it is possible to avoid concentration of stress and to surely support the supported object to the thermally expanding fixation member.

摘要: This invention provides an information processing apparatus which includes a first storage unit and a second storage unit and implements a function of causing the first storage unit and the second storage unit to store data redundantly while maintaining a power saving mode even upon receiving an access request from an external apparatus in the power saving mode, and a method of controlling the same. To accomplish this, upon receiving an HDD access request in the power saving mode, the information processing apparatus operates after transiting to an HDD access mode in which only minimum necessary functions are activated without activating the main CPU. The contents of the HDD changed during the HDD access mode are stored as history information. Upon transiting from the power saving mode to the normal operating mode, the data in another HDD is updated in accordance with the history information, thereby implementing a mirroring function.

摘要: An air-conditioning device includes a refrigerating cycle; a controller to control a refrigerant discharge capacity of a compressor of the cycle in a manner that a refrigerant evaporation temperature of an evaporator of the cycle approaches a target temperature; and a setting portion to set an upper limit for a fuel amount consumed by an engine based on at least the refrigerant evaporation temperature. The controller controls the refrigerant discharge capacity of the compressor in a manner that an actual fuel amount consumed by the engine is equal to or lower than the upper limit.

摘要: An image forming device is provided which embeds a decodable two-dimensional code when embedding (printing) a two-dimensional code in an original document. The image forming device represents additional information by associating virtual points with dots in one-to-one correspondence and arranges dots in positions deviated from virtual points associated with the dots. The image forming device includes a determining unit for determining intervals between the virtual points and virtual points adjacent to the virtual points and determining sizes of the dots, and an arranging unit for arranging dots having the determined sizes to respective virtual points having the determined intervals. The determining unit may determine dots to have sizes other than sizes proportional to the determined intervals.
