    摘要: A method of cultivating floating animal cells, such as lymphocytic cells, medullary tumor cells, medullary tumor cells obtained by the cell fusion with other cells, lymphoma cells, leukemic cells, leukocytic cells, mastocarcinoma cells, liver cancer cells, etc., which comprises introducing a culture medium in a cell culture unit comprising a shell and a plurality of hollow fibers enclosed in the shell, said hollow fiber being open at either end outside of the shell and having a pore diameter of from about 20 A to 10.sup.5 A, wherein the culture medium passes through the interior of the hollow fibers and the floating animal cells are cultivated in the space between the shell and the hollow fibers is disclosed. A floating animal cell culture unit for the method is also disclosed.

    摘要: A semipermeable membrane made of a polyaryl ether sulfone comprised of recurring units represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X, X', X" and X"' are non-dissociative substituents, and l, m, n and o are integers of from 0 to 4. The membrane, which is composed of a single continuous polymer phase, has pores of a diameter increasing progressively and continuously from the surface layers to the center portion thereof.The membrane is prepared by the process wherein:the polyaryl ether sulfone is dissolved in a mixed solution to form a dope of the polyaryl ether sulfone;the polyaryl ether sulfone dope is extruded to form a fiber or film and, then;both sides of the fiber or film are contacted with a liquid miscible with the mixed solvent but incapable of dissolving the polyaryl ether sulfone to remove substantially all the mixed solvent from the fiber or film.

    摘要: The present invention provides antimicrobial compositions, especially compositions comprising an antimicrobial (microbiocidal or microbiostatic) compound and a potentiator of antimicrobial activity. Compositions of the invention combinating an antimicrobial compound and a potentiator are able to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms using much lower concentrations of the antimicrobial compound. The potentiator also enhances the efficacy of antimicrobial compounds against resistant strains of the microorganism.
